I was really tempted by a bitcoin miner/space heater I found. Good efficiency and hash rate. But projected RoI in that just looked dismal. I just spent the money on more bitcoin instead

Today I reached milestone #3 in my #bitcoin journey. First milestone was timidly buying my first sats (on Coinbase) in 2022. 2nd milestone was moving off Coinbase to self-custody cold storage (June 2025, also switched to nostr:nprofile1qqsvn0dkjt80raqrxd470c98n7zrdehmcvj6p5hgw3kyku6zyd8z0fqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq32amnwvaz7tm9v3jkutnwdaehgu3wd3skueq4ulz2v for purchases). The worst part about starting to use bitcoin is it makes using the fiat system unbearable. Seriously, why does it take a week to clear a bank transfer? I’ve become impatient because I have experienced the future, and it is awesome.

entire Bitcoin market is a mess. Robinhood and Coinbase are down. two of our LPs behind the scenes have gone down completely.

Strike is online and functioning. Spreads are all over the place across the entire market. I can’t find anything tight, but we are on it. Have been able to improve things in the last 30 minutes or so and still working on it. Dead bodies everywhere out here in the space 🤣

Absolutely, but tax gains is a burden. Instant deposit from bank and spend SATs out of cash balance is a win all around. Spend bitcoin, encourage vendors to continue accepting it and mitigate cap gain tax while spending bitcoin.

Otherwise you need KYC-free SATs to spend without a tax burden which you can't do with Strike.

If you're just holding, this tool isn't for you.

Haven’t kept any cash balance on strike yet. I feel like if I have money there it should be sats not $. Pile up sats with recurring buys, transfer to cold storage once the stack is tall enough
