Clients that implement nip with 30023 notes have support for markdown and text formatting. -- This allows you to add titles in the same way you post on blogs and forums. -- Amethyst is just plain text.

The kind of content that we're using right now are kind 1 messages, similar to tweets, with minimal formatting. You could make an extremely long note if you need to - and many people do, including me.

The blog posts or long form notes I mentioned are kind 30023, a designated spec to including much more formatting, allowing for better looking content. Not all clients show these in the same ways and specific clients have been created to showcase these.

Amethyst will allow you to create notes like this, and also will allow you to read long form notes or articles.

Yakihonne allows you to create both types of content and read both types of content - a Note or an Article.

As these platforms experience growth in blog articles, news content, and via Primal's "Reads," we're going to need additional contributions to help diversify content. Plus, I was an Android blogger for many years, writing at least one article a week. I can do this!

It is different to Obtainium in the sense that we *do* curate apps. So there are less apps in our catalog at the moment but they are much easier to find (and verify) than with Obtainium.

There is something coming in 2025 that will make all apps on Github, Gitlab and Play Store available as well. Fingers crossed

Yes, I was looking at Obtainium and F Droid. But it seems Zap Store is the simplest with the installation from Guthub, plus no curation or censorship.

Jesus my wife just got one of those caller id spoofing calls where someone from what appeared to be her brothers number called and said they had him and were going to kill him 😱. She just finished feeding our newborn and was terrified

Luckily this was completely fake and we all had a fun family call and were laughing about it. But how terrifying and fucking awful that people like this exist. The spam caller didn’t even ask for money before we hung up…guess he is new at this 🤷🏼‍♂️

New years day is burgers for lunch. One of my tasks is caramelized onions. Using #ghee, I slowly reduced about 2.5 pounds of onions really slowly until all the water had evaporated out, and the onions were translucent and floppy. I then seasoned them to taste.

Since new years day is a bit special, I added to a hot skillet, 2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and about a teaspoon of ground red chili, and 2 tsp of #ghee. Once all the sugar had melted and was mixed with the chili and ghee, I added the onions and left on a slow heat until it was thick and jam-like. If its too hot, you can just add more sugar to offset.

I ended up with about 1.3 pounds of onions containing no seed oils.
