Sorry, I may have missed the spectacle. All I was aware of was that he flew down, they went through all the standard legal stuff, then he flew back to Mar-a-Lago where he held a press meet/rally.

Was there some special spectacle thing that happened? What was it?

The article made reference to a defemation case she lost against him where she had to pay legal costs, not damages - as anyone would need to pay if they lose a defemation case.

I had a quick look, and it seems to be widely publicised, too, despite it only being settled with the last 24 hours.

Hey #[0] #[1] and other Nostr devs. Would it be possible to have the Nostr search function recognize npub when copied and pasted with the # in front? That would definitely make it easier for people to migrate over from Twitter and to follow more people on Nostr, since the only way to include your pubkey in your Twitter bio and have it be “clickable” (at least via mobile devices) is by putting the # in front.

Does that make sense?

Unless this guy was defending his life, it seems to me this was an excessive use of force, a punishment not proportional to the crime, and an example of the dangers in avenging one's self.

But you also need to hear the guy's defense, although unfortunately we can't hear the side of the deceased...

I think about how grand a responsibly it is, to be totally responsible for all of your savings.

If I lose my Bitcoin it’s my fault and nobody will bail me out.

A timely reminder that good self-custody solution involves contigencies, both for your next of kin, and for unforseen circumstances, such as unfortunate boating accidents, or state-sponsored assassinations. Both equally plausible. 😂

Would reduce load on clients and on relays.

Hopefully this actually works ac expected. Searching for users is such a pain point. I often have to use several websites or clients to find a user's npub. It's very tedious.

Muun is 100% stealing user funds. I’ve had them charge 100%-200% fees, and experienced numerous “failed” transactions without receiving full refunds. Stopped using them about a month ago:
