Good morning!

Waffles, running, sports cards…and some freedom tech.

Sports cards and bitcoin, there’s scammers everywhere.

Educate yourself - Read books.

I just realized there's a ton of commonalities between vintage sports cards and bitcoin:

* Scarcity

* Speculation (particularly if you consider modern card prospect chasing to be a form of altcoins)

* Cultural Significance

* Authentification

* Community and "Fandom"

I'll have to think about this some more, but there could be a fun little piece there for nostr:npub1t8a7uumfmam38kal4xaakzyjccht4y5jxfs4cmlj0p768pxtwu8skh56yu, nostr:npub1hxjnw53mhghumt590kgd3fmqme8jzwwflyxesmm50nnapmqdzu7swqagw3, or a future nostr:npub1cashappn03s3cl2ljsdntv0v28e2um5lgx4vjctqjt23pcwzjhsqmtdg5l Zine.

Great Saturday morning! Just finished my article about the How To Play Better Basketball Booklets. I’ll publish it in January. The second “variation” was inserted in 1968 topps test packs/envelopes.

Mile High Card Co sold the pictured pack, booklet, and cards for $4521.60 in September 2017; they’re not cheap!

Stack sats the way this maniac stacked Chicago Cubs scorecards!

Cheers! And Good Morning. Looking forward to some Odell guides on NOSTR soon ;)

I wrote two new pieces for the blog this week:

-The first was my month in review that consolidated all my written content, but also included a few new tidbits: https://www.postwarcards.com/this-month-on-postwarcards-december-2023/

-The second wrapped my four-part series about Upper Deck Commemorative Sheets, this one was about football: https://www.postwarcards.com/the-upper-deck-commemorative-sheets-series-part-4-football/

I’d love to chat about sports cards some more…but frankly, it’s cocktail hour. Cheers!

Since I’m brand new in NOSTR…two unique things about my sports card hobby obsession are that I love checklist and exhibit cards. This group of seven w468 Football cards is the best of both worlds and is from a Dec 2005 auction. No clue what it sold for unfortunately.

Nice. I “jammed” to that pod on the way to and from work today. And now, too, am messing around here on Primal for iOS

Been in BTC for a long while. And listening to your podcast and following folks like jack and Odell exposed me to NOSTR. Given that and being an engineer you’d think I’d have been here earlier…now to figure out all the nuances, nip-05, and wallet integration possibilities…
