Holy cow, what happened to nostr? Over night it has filled up with trolls, bots, and braindead conservatives (redundantly redundant)
Borderlands was far from the worst video game adaptation to a movie that I've seen. But studio interference turned it into a turd. When will movie studios learn? Commit and roll with it. When has a last minute pivot ever worked?
So, with today's news, where's the nostr tiktok replacement? I would, but by the time I figure crap out, the window will have closed.
My transformer tf300t is, I guess, borked beyond repair. The tools that _should_ allow me to get out of the boot loop abandoned the hardware years ago, so I would need the tools of the time...which are broken links lost to internet decay.
Feels like a cop-out, but I legitimately think that covid has really done a number on my ability to focus.
It's been 3 months, but I still struggle to stay engaged on a task for more than a few minutes at a time.
The new security policy at work means no more coding over drawterm in acme, sshfs mounted to the work laptop. 😕
At SummerCon waiting in line for signatures from some voice actors. Makes me wonder how a job like that would affect my lifestyle vs computer work. I'm sure it's completely different.
Started with 4 tubes of mason bee cocoons. Ended with 16! A 4x return. Not bad. They're now hanging out in a wasp-proof bag hopefully growing and getting ready for next year.
Why do I look for every alternative before using something from google?
Exhibit A: on a mac, you can exit _every_ application with cmd-q. Except chrome. Google has determined that default behavior is bad, so they make you _hold_ cmd-q to exit.
When I get a big disruption at work in the afternoon that forces a complete context switch, it pretty much blows out my productivity for the rest of the day.
After growing up the desert, living in the PNW and smelling the sea in the air when it rains is magical.
Aaaayyy...the bees are hatching! Two out of four tubes are open and we saw one bee returning and crawling back in.
Ok, the mason bee house is in place and the cocoons are staged. Hopefully things start happening!
I'm starting to see how mostr will let me consolidate my social touchpoints (by more or less merging mastodon and nostr for me) and I'm wondering if it's worth setting up my own instance.
I don't, I just sort of click through the lists until I see a book that I think would be interesting to have.
I added a couple of titles to my gemini library (gemini://shaggypeak.com/library/books/index.gmi) and doing a quick qc check noticed that the Communist Manifesto had weird numbers littered in the text. Turns out it's got footnotes, but my gpub converter didn't know what to do and just barfed the footnote number into the stream. Fixed now, and published to nimble!
Waiting for Joey and Brae to hit the stage.
If I yell "no, you stupid piece of shit!" at the screen, there's a 96% chance I'm using something from microsoft.
I feel like being forced to use their trash borders on a hostile work environment.
Feeling sheepish about how I let myself be swindled into migrating my BRD wallet to coinbase. I thought I'd still be in control of my money.
Joke's on me. The wallet magically fails to do anything I ask it to that would let me spend my own crypto.
