After months of trying to get an electrician out to troubleshoot my rooftop PV system, I have one scheduled for Monday. I'll give it 50-50 odds that he'll show up. Tradespeople on Kauai have more work than they can handle so it comes down to connections & luck. All of the solar installation companies I contacted just want to sell me a new system.
Anyway, it's so weird to see the east array producing almost nothing in the morning. (It's 9:30 am here.)

My rooftop PV system suddenly lost 50-60% production but no individual panels are out. I live near the ocean...does anyone with #solar expertise know if this white stuff, which I assume is salt, could lead to the drop in production? I'm trying to get a tech out here but he was very dismissive.

This is near my house... there's this natural rock formation that parallels the shore to create a shallow lagoon. The beach near here is called Baby Beach because people plop their newborns into the ocean there at low tide when the water is about two inches deep.

The primary care clinic that's been helping me for 9 years is closing.
Hale Lea was a special place on Kauai. It was a community clinic, and it was supported by a wealthy community member. After 30 years, it's closing. They had expanded in recent years to add physical therapy & mental health care, but they couldn't make the $$ work anymore.
Big loss. My former doc now charges $500/month for concierge service. Dunno where I'm going to get primary care now.
