Paradise is a garden, with a (water) view, within walking distance of a cafe.

Much of the innovation in the last few decades was in search, social, crypto, and AI, because pure math is the last unregulated frontier.

Invite the regulators in and they’ll freeze innovation here just as they did in healthcare and energy.

LLMs are natural language computers - trained by natural language, programmable by natural language.

The best way to program LLMs may simply be to communicate clearly and precisely.

We’ll know Google is serious about AI when they fire the current management team.

RT by @naval: Universal computers perform any possible computation, with the right program.

Universal explainers create any possible knowledge, with the right idea.

Universal constructors build any possible object, with the right instructions.

“Possible” means “allowed by our universe.”

It would make @CommerceGov a dictator over trade, sanctions, investment, cryptocurrency, and more.

America can't outcompete China by becoming more like the CCP.

The biggest near-term question in AI:

Will open-source LLMs with decentralized training be competitive with closed-source and centralized LLMs?

Google rests upon the implicit assumption that users won’t pay 0/month for much better search, and OpenAI may prove them wrong.

You cannot know anything more than your awareness, and you cannot know anything less.

Bet Microsoft ships a phone built around AI by the end of the year.

(Look out, Apple / Google).

Business is the activity you engage in to monetize your specific knowledge.

It is not something to be studied and pursued in and of itself.

Feels like everyone in tech is developing “AI Anxiety.”

Aligning AI is impossible because aligning the humans building AI is impossible.
