iris.to fail (second image)
two irritating things about the iris.to web client:
- using this as the home screen
- weird hover-over menus on stuff that don't appear upon click

jesus, i made a lot of typos in that post, and i can't edit because this is Nostr, not Mastodon.
i sort of want to write up a NIP for an edit feature.
it took years before they introduced edits on Mastodon and it was highly controversial, and the solution that Mastodon finally landed on was to allow it, but also to include an edit history you can view for every post, plus notifications to anyone who had reposted it.
it helps that Mastodon also has undo for every action, so if somebody edits their post, you can undo it.
tbh though, people generally just edit to correct mistakes, not to pull some bait and switch shit on you.
who is the developer of iris.to again? what's the Nostr account?
just checked. yep, BitWarden can export a big JSON file of them, both encrypted and unencrypted. maybe i should dedicate a USB stick to the job of JUST keeping sensitive data on it, stick a label on it, and add a reminder on my phone to do an export once a month.
...but it is making me want to backup everything in my password manager somewhere. now i'm wondering if it allows me to export the data to keep in cold storage.
had a nightmare where all my payment methods and passwords stopped work and i could no longer buy anything and non one could explain why
solve the major complaints and your chance of getting mainstream adoption increase considraby
one might want to avoid prosecution - shockingly enough
we aligned with America in the Cold War so we object to being labelled as communists
*visible annoyance* stop calling it that
my cat sorta just examines the situation
it actually takes some effort to get him clawing and biting. he saves it for special occasions.
my cat has good nerves. this giant ape that could kill him does unpredictable things and he doesn't even blink an eye.
bullshit filter triggered
i find Greta Thunberg fairly annoying too, don't get me wrong
but she's Scandinavian and so am i
and the Nordic model is NOT pure communism. i have a bit more cultural context here than most of you. i know how she grew up. you don't.
it's a hybrid model. we're pro-business AND pro-community. we blend a little of both.
can you guess why our GDPs are so high? because we're willing to compromise and be pragmatic.
i don't disagree with Gretas message. but yes, she's really annoying at times.
the globe is heating up. seeing as we're absurdly populous compared to other mammals, and have to resort to the insect world to find comparable figures, i do think she's onto something...
one of the reasons that Nostr appeals to me is how the protocol itself is fairly lightweight. some of the clients i come across could stand to be a little lighter too...
some clients try hard to be intelligent, such as iris.to. but it spins the fan on my laptop too much. maybe a balance should be struck.
i'd give your argument a little more weight if it wasn't so clumsily formulated
(blunt truth here, i'm not being kind)
