Tried to explain this but it’s almost impossible for them to grasp
- Cross border payments
- high end services for lazy people (sorry not sorry)
- hardware wallets/nodes
- privacy
These are powerful use cases, I love them
I didn’t eat pizza today 🤷♂️
John Arnold's take on why early-stage investing in Bitcoin differs from fiat venture capital. These points stood out and echo what many Bitcoin-focused angels and funds prioritize:
Bitcoin as Opportunity Cost: Bitcoin-native investors assess every deal against the benchmark of simply holding Bitcoin, setting a high bar for capital deployment.
Profitability & Speed: Preference for startups that can become profitable quickly, stack sats early, and minimize dependence on follow-on funding or dilution.
Aligned Incentives: Founders, teams, and investors often personally hold Bitcoin, creating a shared equity mindset across the ecosystem.
Open Source as Force Multiplier: Most Bitcoin startups build on shared open-source infrastructure (e.g. BDK), enabling lean teams to ship faster and collaborate with less friction.
Network Effects Across Portfolio: Unlike traditional VC portfolios with disconnected sectors, Bitcoin companies often benefit from each other’s progress through shared standards and interoperability.
Post-Easy Money Mindset: Generalist VCs still follow a playbook shaped by years of artificially cheap capital—burn cash for growth, chase markups, and rely on future rounds. Bitcoin VCs see that era ending, and instead emphasize capital efficiency and durable returns.
Ecosystem as Shared Project: Every company contributes to and benefits from the broader Bitcoin network, making the entire portfolio stronger as the ecosystem matures.

What are examples of Bitcoin startups that are profitable?
Just curious I don’t know many, but outside of hardware wallets I can’t name one that surely has paying customers
I’ve read through more materials now: it’s almost a nothing burger, the advantage for the garbage is only between 80 and 130 bytes, then they’ll still go to witness as they do now.
The % of non conformant transactions is minuscule, one camp is worried of something that may happen in the future (expanding utxo set) but there is no sign that it’s concerning now.

Your tweet made the rounds here 🤣
INTA is the biggest Intellectual Property conference, you scared them!

What’s the nostr consensus on OP_RETURN? Just curious to see if there’s one or it’s like X (basically no consensus just 2 camps insulting each other)
You didn’t play “Buzz Aldrin’s race into space”
How do people post so much? I have to post more, but is the secret really just scheduling a selfie or a quote everyday?
Reflecting here as on LinkedIn I cannot show this 😅
Frohe Weihnachten 🎄!
This was happening 2 years ago! Just before opening a container full of fakes!
The process of identifying high-risk actors and shipments still relies heavily on manual intuition. What’s missing is a comprehensive risk engine that can analyze and connect the dots automatically. Such an engine should evaluate factors like company relationships and the trails left by past infringements, digesting this data to produce real-time, actionable reports.
As a curiosity, the image shows an X-ray station. Believe it or not, one clear sign of counterfeits or illicit trade is chaos inside the container!
This is a strong indicator that helps confirm suspicions after a shipment is stopped. However, by that point, you’ve already pulled the goods from the flow and dedicated significant resources. The real solution lies upstream: focusing on comprehensive risk analysis to ensure only the most suspicious shipments are flagged for inspection.
Eonpass connects the dots, let's build safer trade worldwide!
