Quiet soul who enjoys knitting, spinning, reading, and cats. Endlessly creative cook. Chronically ill with ME for lo these twenty-some odd years. "Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees." Terry Pratchett, Feet of Clay

Is there an easy way to remotely monitor another person's pulse? My partner and I are getting older, and sleep in different rooms at different times. We've both worried about the other dying unbeknownst. I wear a pulse watch, but don't know if it will do what I want. Any ideas, friends? I'd like us to be able to glance at a screen and see a heartbeat. #ageing #wearables #wearable #disability

The kitty blanket is finished! I'm so chuffed with it, but also a little sorry to be done #knitting it, because it was fun to make. My partner loves it, and asked me to make more for our den. The #cats continue to produce fur, so I see more #handspinning in my future. This is a blend of Jacob #wool and cat #floof that I spun. It is WARM! The pattern is my variation of the famous 10 stitch blanket by Frankie Brown. More details in the alt text. #handmade #fiberarts #textiles #homespun

Well. I have tidied my room, done the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and folded the clothes. There's no more avoiding it now. Time to sew on the damn buttons. #knitting #handmade #handcraft #justchatting

This is a shrug I made for a friend, a garment meant to keep your shoulders warm. She wanted these colors, and I wanted to explore bias and short rows. Never again will I work in black or buy cheap yarn. Still, it came out rather nice, and she is happy. Maybe I'll play with these ideas again one day. #knitting #handmade #handcraft
