I feel like the nostr event is an even more fundamental innovation. Zaps are a direct outcome of composable social media via events!
It could honestly be nice to have a moderation tab in with DMs and chat. Each post request would appear as a message and have the necessary approval buttons.
Anything more than that seems like itβs better served as a dedicated client

Are you planning to support long form notes for communities eventually or just kind 1?
It looks like many of the current platforms that support communities arenβt recognizing long-form post. Hopefully this is just because the spec is so new! In the current spec, I believe long-form posts will be the preferred medium used in communities since they can be replaced to change the community they belong to.
This is critical given that the spec will require moderator approval to post and creating alternate communities will be likely.
The alternative of making communities open and requiring post removal would be extremely vulnerable to removal.
Moderated communities optimized for replaceable events seem like a great solution.

So am I reading NIP-172 right that long-form notes (because they are replaceable) are not compatible with community moderated lists? People were issuing a lot of them a while back, but there is a little less meaning to them when no one really recognizes a single central authority for determining the awards and anyone can issue them. Would be interesting if someone can come up with a use-case that would revitalize them.
