Yeah I did look at that photo a second time and think that it doesn’t look as big as other phones. Maybe the 8 will end up being a good size. Seems like the size always seem nice until you add a case… I know that’s how I feel about my wife’s 12 pro

Damn, modern phones are so big. I’m spoiled with my iPhone mini form factor
Sent you a dm about another potential with issue. May be a nothingburger but wanted to flag it
What platform are you on? I believe there is a browser in android that you can install Nos2x in. On iOS you can use Nos2x with Orion or nostore with safari. On either you can bookmark a website for the nsecBunker admin panel but you will need to self host the daemon elsewhere and the log-in method isn’t widespread yet
This would only work for a single client though right, somehow the client has to make the link between the email and the nsec. Or maybe this could be provided as a secondary authentication service using nip-46? I guess either way someone (besides the user) has to store that email and the nsec together somehow
Triple tap for PW manager is a game changer. Also setting your phone down leads to a lot of false positives on double tap. Triple is kind of a pain, but worth it IMO
Oops sorry… wrong note. Check this one out. nostr:note1rf3xwtlehsnas944kh5kekmtg52pc63tdspa757g80c9nj9zgd2saasjjn
Thank you!
Yeah, this model is indeed super powerful and game changer.
I agree that some more feedback between client<>bunker would be beneficial
the current implementation of nsecBunker is extremely protective and won't even talk to unauthorized parties, but perhaps replying with "not authorized" is a good compromise; otherwise the UX is incredibly hard to debug
one more thing I want to add to nsecBunker is notifying the admin-npub when there is some action to be taken (like approve a new client)
Thanks so much for this feedback!

That’s a great idea to notify the admin npub. I would need to rethink my setup a bit - as of now I am administrating with a dedicated key so that I only have my real keys in the bunker!

After playing with nsecBunker yesterday it’s pretty clear how powerful it is. I ran into a few hiccups as is to be expected.
Clients that integrate NIP-46 should consider adding more user feedback when interacting with nsecBunker - right now when things aren’t working it’s difficult to know where the problem is and can be confusing.
When a request is sent to nsecBunker there could be a ”waiting on response” dialog or indicator to show that authentication is in progress. The client should make available (maybe via hover) the request ID hash and the client-side npub so it’s easy to tell that you are approving what you intend to. Without this it feels like you are blindly approving requests in nsecBunker. This could read on the client side like “Coracle awaiting approval to send a reaction from this browser session (request xxxxxxx, kind: 7)”. The dialog box would go away when request is approved so it’s only informative and doesn’t require interaction.
Excellent work by nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn and nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft getting this implemented to the point where it is already
Do you know what clients besides coracle.social, nostr.kiwi, and highlighter support this right now?
Would love to see it! I haven’t heard of altstore or seen sideus yet. Will have to take a look. I locked my Damus version into the last TestFlight version before they removed zaps but now I can’t install TestFlight 😅
I think the client needs to be nip-46 compatible. So far it seems to be coracle.social and nostr.kiwi. Haven’t found others.
On coracle.social it shows my npub and the “bunker key” which is the delegated nsec for that client. You might be able to plug that nsec into another client, but unless it was nip-46 compliant I think it would just treat it as a normal nsec and be associated with the delegated npub and not your npub.
Just found this one too! Even more good descriptions.

Have nostr:npub10kxq8tpxwd26ktrdz8herfdtph5e7ha4euxd9k40ahzxzkcr0ltqw6w297 running on my home server with a new private key that I can now sign from my phone or laptop to authenticate either of my two real private keys. No more exposing nsecs to more than 1 device 🤯
Can’t wait to see more clients integrate an the interface to continue improving.
I did find this video… it didn’t feel as smooth for me trying to get things to work with coracle, but it did work. Mostly I was confused by what I was authenticating - i.e. how does the nsec bunker know the request is me if I hit always allow the first time. It sounds like it requires approval per session, but I will need to keep playing around with it. Very promising though!
I was able to get this working with chrome. I think something with brave is messing it up.
