Damn, modern phones are so big. I’m spoiled with my iPhone mini form factor

💯!

Same here

you can get the 7a, it's smaller than the main line 7 and 7 Pro.

It’s disheartening that to be a Bitcoinist using iOS is liability.

This is what I’m waiting for..

Looking into pixels right now. You know, cause Apple’s a bitch. What’s your take on 7A, Derek? I’m looking into a more pocket-friendly option and not a fan of huge screens.

I would love to be able to step away from Apple but with my iPad and workflow I simply wouldn't be able to. 🥲

I’m very comfy with my Apple devices interoperability, but that’s exactly what keeps us on the hook. I’ve decided to start now and take it slow. The longer you wait, the harder it will be.

My plan is to get an Android phone while keeping my iPhone for now. Move essential apps - mostly the ones related to open protocols - to Android first. Then see if I can ditch iOS all together.

I have a friend who has a windows laptop, an android phone and an ipad. 😂 He somehow gets around, so I think I’ll manage too.

ecosystem lock-in is a real thing.

The lock in definitely is real, my wife and I all the time airdrop photos and links so that would be a super hard thing to part ways with in addition to ETA sharing in Maps, just to name a few features.

messaging?

I intentionally fragment my platforms between form factors. Self hosting stuff and open protocols make it a lot easier. I think that being able to choose the "best" device for each format to meet my use case has increased my productivity post initial setup.

🤙

i've never used the 7A, but my kids both have 6A's from last year and they are great devices for their cost.

Thanks! I’m still researching, but wanted to hear a non-YouTube opinion 😄 definitely leaning towards this model.

Do you replace the OS, or just run with it?
