Thinking about python, geospatial, forestry, and LiDAR in small-town Idaho.

I can’t say I’ve done it but I feel like “mastering bitcoin” by Andreas could get me there

Any nostr/git implementation should allow git repository urls to be their own replaceable kind that are queryable by available commit hashes (as a tag). Urls need to be able to change or else everything to them will be fragile.

Git commit hashes are a great indexing tool for querying because they share similar cryptographic hash properties that make nostr event ids unique. Commit hashes as tags can power decentralized repository discovery in a censorship resistant way.

See my first attempt at writing a NIP here - have not submitted a PR as there are already three open on the topic with some overlap. Looking for feedback if you think this is on the right track!

nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 seems like it would be good to order long-form notes by the published_at tag instead of the created_at attribute in the timeline. Would avoid notes resurfacing when editing typos or making other small changes.

nostr:npub1048qg5p6kfnpth2l98kq3dffg097tutm4npsz2exygx25ge2k9xqf5x3nf release: human-friendly URLs

- Defaults to using nip05 and article identifier for readable URLs, Habla nip05 users also get prerendering and shorter URLs

- Adds a Share button to your articles for copying URL or nostr ID

- Adds a URL preview to editor

Long ass URLs will always work but have decided to move to these by default due to community feedback.

Let me know what you think!

FYI it looks like the link at the bottom of the “write” page directs to an article url that has the domain twice and therefore won’t load even after being posted. It looks correct, but opens the link like:

Yes! I am all on board and definitely didn’t mean my previous comment to come off as negative. It also wouldn’t be fair to export things to move quickly given that the NIP PR is still open! Very excited to see the wonderful tools you all are building out.

👀 I honestly have never thought to dry brine fish. Definitely report back if you do this!

Preferably coarse. I just use Morton’s Kosher salt for most things these days, including steaks. Kenji Lopez-Alt has a detailed write up on salt types (and also some great guides on dry brining). He is normally my go-to for food science topics.

You won’t go back. It gets even better after 2-3 days!

Well you also nailed it about the terminology. I’ve always been one to worry (a lot) about late payments. Mine now goes out on the first on auto-pay 😂

Don’t know how they get away with such unclear terminology.

Lol what a roller coaster

First half: wow green peace is going after black rock and their fake ESG non-sense

Second half: Bitcoin CEO 🤦‍♂️

Nice!

Ha don’t get too excited! I am still a bit of a development noob so we will see if it makes as much sense to everyone else as it does to me

Seems like NIP-172 (moderated communities) sets a great foundation for building a better GitHub over nostr. NIP in the works. We’ll see where I get 😅

Back from the road-trip and to our usual habits #coffeechain

I’d also be curious to hear about some resources from the organization standpoint. Someone recommended “Fluent Python” to me when I started learning OOP and it is really helpful to learn the structures, but not as much about organizational principles I don’t think

In my experience it seems common that most banks consider the due date the first but payment is not late until the 15th. If you pay early they may apply the payment toward your principle instead of a usual monthly payment.

I had some weirdness happen with how debit card payments were applied through my credit unions online portal and they were able to fix and give me more detailed information on how to handle it going forward. So you should probably call your lender too!
