the world is desperately searching for something - it just hasn't figured out that the something is Jesus yet.

the world is desperately seeking something - it just don't know that something is a relationship with Jesus Christ
the bible call for us to believe what God said without any proof just because he said it. the bible calls it faith
Then he said, "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 18:3

I'd be careful, the spiritual world is very real. In the bible we are told that the battle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers and principalities - demons! That was a demon laughing at you because it knows that the reason for Earth is to be used as testing ground for us to have to use our free-will to choose:
- worship and have a relationship with God
- turn away and worship other things like money, intelligence, power, fame, pleasure, self
Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life. The harder you seek him, the more spiritually attacked you will be - test this and see.
You can read more about the meaning of life in Ecclesiastes 1 in the bible:
```
“Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!”
What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.
History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!” But actually it is old; nothing is ever truly new. We don’t remember what happened in the past, and in future generations, no one will remember what we are doing now.
haha, well the warm welcome is happy enough for me 🙂
funny enough i don't use social media much despite building a decently successful one. i have nothing against twitter/x, instagram, bluesky, whatever -- my main purpose of using these is the value of the content, not the security, data privacy, or protocol underlying them.
i stumbled into nostr cuz i'm currently building/playing around with the idea of a niche chat app that prioritizes it's specific purpose/values and security is kind of an afterthought.
i looked into matrix/federated stuff but it's pretty complex and has its drawbacks.
the simplicity of nostr protocol is most attractive to me. and the idea that it could be used to create a better, decentralized signal is awesome.
i'm not crazy about crypto, but decentralization is cool, and web3 style login is awesome.
this is my first comment using nostr.
only just recently was i naturally led to this project and over the last few days i've been reading through the nips.
considering using it for my app
