Since discovering bitcoin I am a completely different person. I know that I will never again be the same. And in a way, that’s good but it is also bad. I will always be different from 99% of people I interact with on a daily basis.

In my daily life I can kind of avoid politics. But recently I disagreed with someone I care about. We argued about politics. I understand how purposefully divisive politics are, and she does not. I remain an open mind because I understand how people’s viewpoints can differ based on what they were exposed to. Not everyone feels the same though.

It’s almost impossible to describe my world view to someone who does not see what I’ve seen. I just feel lonely knowing that the people around me just don’t get it. In a way my life has become harder. Living in a big city, most people are strongly liberal.

I love nostr for this reason, a little escape from the world’s programming into our community. But it doesn’t compare to meat space.

I’ll be alright. Just feelin a lil sad and lonely. I’d rather be open and honest in my daily life than not. Even if it brings me problems, I’d rather live a life of truth. This pain is a small price to pay for the advantages that bitcoin brings and the massive benefit it has had on my life.

Yes. Similar to a bank. There is going to be a huge market for lending and the ability measure risk and insure both sides is data driven and possible to achieve via decentralized technical means rather than statist institutions.

She posed an interesting question about collecting rent on real estate. Could there be an easy, trustless, and reliable way for Bitcoin holders to collect interest on their holdings, and use the interest as passive income? If so, that might be the killer app.
