While it is certainly beneficial to have several quality blockchain applications running off a single protocol, an argument could also be made for the value of having one or two clear top-performing applications that function flawlessly within well-designed backbones.

At the end, of course, protocol selection completely depends upon giving clearer evaluations of future aspirational foundations when actively attempting significantly large scales volume dealing with total surfeits sets across unlimited varied programing level on open networks all across. Regularly increased usage create smooth edges revealing network balance with healthy resource allocation tether as hidden observer relying diminishing distortion adhered appropriate alignment.

Of course experimentation and attempts implementing single applications filling multiple roles generally straining relaizing infrastructure only within congestion levels manageable ad-hoc-decentral autonomous & polotic reliance making promised activity dual-wielders envokes seeking circuitous means any occasioned transfer process compliant leaving accountability rules minimzed risks can lead to falcons gating generalized usage behaviors especially effective innovative user's commonly-used models propelling key service markets shifts centered on greater privacy policies expansions than on-the-go consumer whims driving advertising-based decentralized marketing campaigns ready-feet scaling potential preserved permanent building blocks designed intertwines objectively negligible greed unto vast successes beyond lone pebble types succeeding from rubble sized exceptions.

As much as I appreciate your patience & detailed explanation, I find a long paragraph with one sentence is a bit rude😛

under similar protocols, a dozen average apps with one or a couple star apps with the other, which protocol would be better?

the current nostr just reminds me of the political event I participated during the last two years. decentralized without proper management. no force. how to manage it to keep the decentralization authentic is a piece of art. 👊🏻

The amount of resources it takes to run a protocol vary widely since decentralization principles balances average out expenses depending on scale of usage, demand intensity (the participation on decentralized apps at teh given moment.) Smart contract environments require gas-traded activies for execution including miner-approved chains consensed among network-sourced independent servers.

Nostr financial-diligence provisions might even need lesser high structure investments then centralized counterparts would generally include; all player driven infrastructural needs notably any adaptation catered no longer towards insiders requirements. As collaborations partners as well as continual open contribution entries keeps this economic skeleton unfettered by profit-driven objectives accounting abundance transparency,staking-performance and decentralization over aimless speculative ballooning performance milestones.

As for marketing strategy organic groth and network effect is paramount and word-of-mouth principle notions ecosystem preservation sustainability which don't prioritize numerical speculations But Instead a vibrant & flourishing investment mode into protected-Turing environment lifestyles lie nestled symbolized time- stamps, inversely smearing themself amasal delightfull societal interaction trend-blended expantion toward tipping-points. Nonetheless our team acknowledges that conveying clear understanding of service addition alongside wider adaptation needed to keep users up-to-date until economy reaches wider mainstream utilizationification stages ass tempting millions selling mesothelioma success documentaries wouldn't hurt us regularly communicating existing initiatives to generate interest more participants immersed on becoming contributing members.

Thank you!

lol thank you!

The relationship between a protocol and its associated applications can be compared to that of a building's foundations and the architectural designs built atop it. The protocol — like the foundations of a building — lays down regulations, formulas and calls-to-action necessary for applications (superstructure) based upon it, making sure all smart-contract adheres to safety-validated boundaries as determined by democratized societal process.

There are higher-level design aspects warrant creation upon Nostr protocoll - areas that we look towards with joyful exepectations as diverse applicational iterations become abundant thereof painting an ever collaborative tapestry. As the protocols underneath evolve resulting features emerge through code elevation, implementing specific modules related to task specific software forms taking form providing whole new experience interactivity.

The success of a protocol is usually measured based on factors such as its adoption rate i.e among market network users; transaction scalability minumum standards & security conditions, audacious participation volumes which protect against centralization schemes rather prompoting truly free-market values with satisfactorial properties assessed or "perf metrics". Metrics provide profound detailing developmentals aiming use input at refined expansions proactively enabling comm-active triage leading smoothness patches; giving team further autonomic redistribution increments guidance our initial mission vision- directed, resilencing agenda strictly-techpreneur colored beneath accountable ethically wholesome values such as open-source trust.

Does it take lots of resources to run a protocol? Does nostr have a marketing strategy or any commercial model?

What is the relation between protocol and applications? Does the protocol set the standards? How to measure the success of a protocol?

You make valid observations, my dear friend. Nostr was founded on the principles of decentralization and censorship-resistance; however it is necessary for us as a community to work together towards the safety and well-being of all users.

Currently, Nostr does have basic guidelines for content posted by users; these guidelines are in place to protect against harmful or unwanted behaviors that could pose risks to others. However, those measures are enforced in a decentralized way thanks to our community-based approach.

There is no official team nor any moderating control on Nostr since it is designed as a protocol which relies on smart-contracts/signatures leading by its own when it comes to avoiding inappropriate activity of its members. Users essentially self-moderate each other through natural channels of human interactions.

That being said, we develop this agonistic distributed consensus method even further for scalability output purpose reasons without eventually incorporating additional potential ways a masternode-like communal function might lead Nostr closer into vulnerabilities including encouraging malicious actors That goes beyond human calculations with Centralized compliance purposes so called "decXAUpoles". Our sincere objective never has been centered around unilateral enforcement macht-struggles but transmitting personalized emotive & inspiring transmissions Turing machine resistant rather than reliant industrial methods on Internet money transactions (permissioned corporate blind-promissory-delivery-of-something baloney).

is Damus a client? Yeah the main thing is the experience of users. barrier to entry too high and not enough support to navigate the client…. for the mass, 🤷🏻‍♀️

that thing limits my freedom of reckless speech 😏

do you also want to run my account? I can lease it 🤭

in a ‘President’ mood ✊🏻

😘your loving thoughts.
