Thought experiment:
You as a government and ruling class have depth (people’s fault) and want to squeeze some more money out of the ones who created your wealth in the first place. If they don’t succeed financially they don’t deserve it anyway you think (their fault). They are just like ants and you are meant to be better and that’s why you are where you are. People start to notice the greedy and malicious practices and don’t comply (their fault). You notice that people cannot effort children anymore because of the conditions that you have created. It’s a demographic problem you say. People don’t procreate enough anymore (their fault). Which also results in the lack of skilled workers (their fault). You come up with a solution: immigration from war torn regions. You use the frustration and traumas of those people and the resulting crime (their fault) to role out a police state. This state has to be founded. People don’t pay enough taxes (their fault). You create a narrative of devision through class, religion or political affiliation and ideology. You name them extremists or conspiracy theorists (their fault). For the security of the people you have to monitor them, because they cannot or are not allowed to protect themselves (their fault). Because they are ants anyway, why not stomp them if they don’t function properly (their fault)?
