You’re right. But it never ended well if it kept on long enough, or periods of debasement were short-lived; I’m not defending debasement, quite the opposite. But it shows that it wasn’t something sustainable under monarchies.
For example, Emperor Caracalla was stabbed by his guard while he was pissing.
The Great Debasement in England was stopped rather shortly after the succession it Henry VIII.
Because through voting, you give legitimacy to the state to apply its law to you, regardless of who you vote for or who wins. Even if you cast down a blank vote.

You say taxation is theft. Many people reply with “Taxation is the fee you pay to live in a civilized society kept together through the social contract.”
But you didn’t sign any contract. Oh wait, did you vote this last election? Yep, that’s the contract and you signed voluntarily. Now pay up 50% of your income to stay out of jail you well behaving citizen.

Civilized people will never have more babies than they can personally afford. What you can personally afford is a direct reflection of the amount of resources allocated to you.
It’s always the least civilized people who are having more kids than they can naturally afford, because they’re being subsidized by the more civilized side of the world.
