There really needs to be multiple nostr platforms and a large part of the world using them. Free speech isn't a human right without millions pushing it down the throats of the few elites that control everything. We don't want to give them one target to shoot for, they won't feel the pressure until it's coming from all angles.

I agree with most of what you said here, but BTC is not by definition Fiat. It is representative, but Fiat means by decree. An entity "above" you like a king or government tells you "this is money" and you can't push back. Currently, BTC is a choice that does represent money/currency whatever you want to call it, but it's not mandated from top down. Many of the other concerns will arise as with other previous currencies, but it is an attempt to remove trust in authority to referee outcomes. It is an attempt at a trustless or less trust system, but I get your gist

The war on free speech is on in western nations. Brazil sees X, like America sees TikTok. I'm not saying X or tiktok are the epitome of free speech, but to the dictators of the world, they are close enough. This video is essentially the whole education system. What the research actually says and means is not taught to the students on every level, elementary to university and beyond. Everything taught benefits the system and keeps the populace largely ignorant. The genius, if you want to call it such, is that they also program everyone to adhere to authority or academia/experts that are controlled by the system, but guised under disciplines like science, where everyone believes the scientific method is being used, but really being subversive to it. Think the last 4 yrs, many knew how these processes worked, but since they weren't authorized by the system, they were labeled misinformation.
The problem is governments and constitutions have been usurped long ago and the populace of many nations still believe in the processes established long ago. Most national political actions are ceremonial at best and no effect on the reality of the situations we find ourselves in...
