A gadfly with a point of view. Writing about the questions of life involving theology, science, and apologetics to inspire thought. Interested in the surprising and the inspiring world.

I am familiar with the name. However, haven’t looked into him much.

Apologies for the double posts! Someday, I will remember to put the tags in the first time.

The Fine Tuning of the Universe and the Existence of God

One of the strongest pieces of evidences for the existence of God is the apparent fine tuning of the universe. That is, the fine tuning that exists in numerous equations that govern physics.

Take for instance the equation of Newton's Law of Gravitation. The Gravitational Constant is the number in the equation the tunes the gravitational strength much like tuning a guitar. It's number determines the strength of attraction between two masses. The gravitational constant is tuned to such a degree that if gravity were stronger by 1 part in 10^40 (that is a 1 followed by forty 0s), the universe would be dominated by black holes and not stars. Making the universe inhabitable for life. This is a strong indication that the universe was created for life and not just an accident.

The following video by Dr. William Lane Craig explains fine tuning in more detail.

The DNA-Protein Evolution Paradox

Evolution relies on random mutations and natural selection to be a viable theory for the diversity of life. However, there are issues with mutations causing changes in organisms. We can call these issues, evolutionary paradoxes. When the paradoxes are fully examined, they unveil the absurdity of evolutionary theory. One of the paradoxes is called the DNA-Protein paradox.

DNA is the information carrier for the construction of proteins that are in turn the building blocks of cells. Without DNA, the only way to build a protein would be the chance assembly from a primeval goo. So, for life to exist and to replicate in an environment you must have the blueprint of a protein’s assembly that is contained in DNA. However, DNA is itself made of proteins and assembled in cells. DNA and proteins rely on the other for their assembly. This establishes a “which came first, the chicken or the egg” situation. It is inconceivable that one component can assemble itself spontaneously enough to form the other.

The creation of a protein is extremely complicated and further complicated by the proper folding of the protein. The protein folds are what allows it to function properly. According to Cyrus Levinthal, there are 10^300 different ways that a protein can fold after a peptide chain is produced. [1] Only one of the folds is the correct one for the function of the protein. This is just one of numerous issues that either the protein or DNA would have to survive in order to spontaneously create.

I checked to see if it reposted. It is not on my feed. I don’t think I did something wrong?

No problem! Thanks for the zap!

Thank you very much for your candid reply. I understand where you are coming from and I think you sum it up with your quote “imaginary distant future”. I think that succinctly sums up our current situation, imaginary…

I am thankful that people are waking up to our situation and that gives me hope. I sincerely pray that you are successful in your future plans, may God bless you and guide you. Cheers!

Just wanted to share… I have grown up all my life with “get a career, save money, and contribute to your retirement. Then when you are 65 or so you can retire! That was good until 2015 when I had an aortic dissection and emergency surgery to get a graft put it. Then another surgery over a year ago to replace my damaged aortic valve.

I am not reveling this to make people feel sorry for me. My life in many ways is much better now. I say this because it negatively affects my view on retirement and saving money. My life is now segmented into future valve replacements. I no longer have the comfort of an apparent long life. I am not sure now. So now all the years of saving for retirement with what the world told me seems a little hollow. I feel really cheated. The dollar has been manipulated into making me work my butt off. All for the payoff of “maybe” having enough from essentially playing the stock market (401k).

That leaves me with what brought me to here and nostr. Bitcoin caught my attention a few months ago. After a deep dive research period, I finally invested. I am too new to really know if it will benefit my family and I. However, it gives me some hope that my hard earned money may not evaporate before I retire. I am not fully trapped in the system.

Just my 2 cents/sats. Cheers!

Tacitus… Look, when you are ready to hear numerous different proofs for Jesus and the existence for God, look me up. Until then, I have no interest in arguments, they go nowhere. Cheers!

I just posted one of the many historical writings from Josephus about Jesus of Nazareth…

Flavius Josephus and Jesus Christ

Flavius Josephus was a prominent Jewish born historian in the first century AD. He wrote about the history of Isreal and the surrounding area of that time. In his book "Jewish Antiquities" he discusses the historical Jesus of Nazareth.

"Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us, had condemned him to the cross, 9 those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day; 10 as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day." ~Jewish Antiquities, 18.3.3 §63

No need to slander and call names. #[4]#[4] just doesn’t want to argue. There is plenty of historical proof of Jesus’ existence that is extra-biblical. The main proofs are the gospels and Paul’s letters that were written when many witnesses were still alive. It is not even a serious debate amongst Bible scholars.

Thank you for the follow! Cheers!
