SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS Bitcoin, šŸ“š, & MSTR.

Or put another way the issue is less whether they are security and more whether, if they are, they can actually become a registered one instead of an unregistered one. They can’t. And there’s no real moral justification claiming that the laws or regulations as they stand are morally correct for crypto projects. They basically marry a combination of a typical company and an open source project and they need a new framework.

Yes, but you can’t actually meet the laws/regulations for registration. This is in part because the Howey Test is a Supreme Court test and not law passed by congress or a regulation made by the SEC. The laws and regulations tell you how what’s needed to register and it’s simply not possible for these crypto projects to comply. It asks for things they can’t do. And then fails to ask for things they damn well should disclose.

I have a more nuanced take on this. I think what the SEC & lawmakers are doing here is despicable.

They adamantly refused to pass regulations or laws that centralized or more centralized crypto projects could meet. They also didn’t pass regulations or laws requiring disclosure of information that would make total sense for those projects but not traditional securities.

I may think the projects are dumb, but if they aren’t a fraud or a scam, I think the market should figure that out & not force them out via old laws that make zero sense for the current times.

With that being said, this *is* why you want true decentralization. Because then they can’t stop it or regulate it out of existence even if they want to. nostr:note1njhs0r8d6g0u8q4ay6wl50pmaeyppzljqvedq4gcfcfkng97tacqgavnya

This whole #UFODisclosure report relies on the fact some military people testified under oath to Congress. It’s a good thing you can always trust military officials not to lie to congress. Otherwise you might have to consider it’s all lies.

Why is there a federal excise tax on fishing tackle boxes?

I honestly think something simple like the bottom right would be what I’d want. (Ignore the white box. Just don’t want to disclose how much bitcoin I have sitting on strike right now. Haha)

I’d love it if when I clicked on the strike symbol I could see the value of the bitcoin I hodl on strike in USD/local currency without having to click through and then click again. I suspect I’m not alone. Just a thought!

Great update btw! Today, my family discussed over pizza about how good the update you provided is for people who need to send remittances. It’s fantastic you onboarded a bunch of new countries.

So my thing is a small quibble.

Keep up the good work! Keep killing Western Union and helping out those who need it the most.

Grand conspiracies involving scheming intelligent mustache twirling evildoers are quite rare. It’s often just bureaucratic complexity, lazy thinking, a general belief that you aren’t harming others, and bad incentives that create these terrible outcomes.
