1988 results are contested, per the source from that article. And the blood stain claims are tenuous - based on many assumptions of how the shroud was used. https://www.livescience.com/28276-shroud-of-turin.html

What is an Open Society?

Warby Parker glasses (no ins.): $200

Luxottica glasses (w ins.): $700

WP quality is the same, if not better.

Ha by that I just meant shopping for other people this time of year. Ie. If I’m not an avid hunter, ask what would be a good gift and what companies make the best product

I hadn’t had poison ivy in probably over 15 years, until recently. If you’re ever unfortunate enough to get it, I recommend Tecnu wash, I spent weeks using Calamyn lotion, and it just got worse until I found Tecnu.

Many coffee chains are selling iced coffee labeled (& priced) as cold brew.

Been noticing this too.

Ie. $1.25M->1M or $800k->700k

After ~120 days on mkt

If you look at the reward/daily wage as a metaphor for Heaven, then it’s an undeserved reward as it is, for both the full-day and part-day workers - Incentive remains? Ie. If we got paid 25 btc for a day’s work, and the employer paid the same to some half-day contractors, we’d still be incentivized to do it again. And we’d probably be happy, for everyone involved, to be compensated so well.

Had the opportunity to hang out with nostr:npub1uvl7vhclmezvdhqha6eclkksln40rjhgwgsggvew683jf93fr4pq3mq3sd recently. Dude is an insane asset when it comes to running servers at scale, he runs his own ISP and is very knowledgeable when it comes to running reliable servers at scale. I am going to get strfry running on freebsd and he is going to help run some hardcore relays for damus’ bootstrap relay set. Always blown away at the skillset of people in the bitcoin and nostr space who are willing to help for free because they believe in the cause 🤯

Runs his own ISP? Def want to know more on this.

Highly recommend this doc on Income Tax and the Federal Reserve.

tl;dr I’m in Hal Finney’s camp, for now:

“Most Bitcoin transactions will occur between banks, to settle net transfers." - Hal Finney Dec. 2010.

To expound: I’m not convinced non-custodial lightning is required, being an IOU as it is. This approach is anathema to cypherpunk ideals, but it’s an inherently un-scalable on-chain approach, and I don’t think it can be trivialized to be easy enough for the everyday user non-custodially, even if it could scale.

I’d agree if it was open source - afaik it’s not.

Great job, Walker, valuable rip.

We’re searching for the best programmable bitcoin IOU (aka layer 2) for the masses.

Lightning has a lead but is stalling.
