Did a £100 #bitcoin trade through #bisq2 and it worked!
Well I'll be...
Not many people on Bisq2 for trades around the £100-200 mark but the one I chose came through with the goods, and none of that KYC crap.
A++++++++ would use again. :D
I mostly just play Dwarf Fortress, but I have quite a few other games installed through Steam. I'm using Linux Mint.
For those wondering, LocalCoinSwap is a good site as is downloading Bisq2. #Bisq2 has an easy mode that steps you through buying #bitcoin . Both can take a couple of days between your initial purchase then the transfer of the cash and the sending of the #btc. Both worked for me.
Converting between #BTC and other cryptos costs about the equivalent of £6 in BTC.
Isn't that defeating the whole point of using BTC? Isn't BTC meant to keep the rates down to the equivalent of pennies??

I buy 0.003BTC then right after that it keeps dropping. 😄
Bloody typical....

Meh, just messing around with this little mining widget. No real idea what I'm doing. If anything... 😄

For anyone else wondering:
changelly.com
margex.com
agoradesk.com
bisq.network (bisq2 seems more new user friendly)
localcoinswap.com
I've not bought anything from them yet, but they do seem good and not require KYC for signing up. I'll probably try localcoinswap first.
Thanks! This seems promising. Can't see any offers for a batch lower than £60, but might have to just give it a go.
Relai isn't available on the UK. Couldn't find peach wallet.
I've loaded it up. I need to try and figure out the min max stuff as I'm only looking to buy small amounts.
Can anyone recommend a way to buy #bitcoin and #altcoin in the UK without this #KYC crap? Every site is using KYC. Even ones that say they're anonymous.
I'm not trying to buy them under the radar for anything nefarious. I just don't have a passport or driver's license or ID. I'm a Mr Nobody.
New record for my #meshtastic adventures. A mile and a half no problem. Could have gone further but I turned around and came home.
This. Seeing *lots* of this. Mostly always called Dan but with different npub numbers. Always a hello world 0 through 4.
I think the bots are invading.....

En masse. Same they all seem to be called Dan for some reason. 😄
Finding the down side now: the solar panel (with less/no sun) is making the USB battery bank go funky which is making the Heltec unit reset. So I'll need to either change the panel or the battery bank. Hmmmm. 🤨
Dunno. I've blocked god knows how many accounts that are just 'hello world' over and over.
What's with all the '~~ hello world ~~' posts I keep seeing????
It's just a regular folding solar panel (with mini USB output) from Amazon. Today has been quite sunny so the USB battery bank has gone from 10 to 14%. So it certainly seems to be working now.
Version 1.5 of my outdoor #meshtastic unit. Bigger tub this time and the white wire goes to a solar panel.

Meh. The Nokia style battery isn't much good in these units. Barely lasts 8hrs. Better than nothing though, but I still use it with a USB battery bank.
