I picked up a bad habit of drinking coffee which I'd like to kill until my race occurs as well as reduce it over all. Started 6/25/23 - Race is 7/15/23

Atomic Habits

Power of Habits

Journal your habit when it is occurring or the urge is on

Who, what, where, when, and How

How am I feeing?

Who is around me?

What time is it?

Where am I?

What was the last thing that happened before the habit cued?

Edit your environment

Be around people that already have what you want

Cue, Ritual, Reward

Refrain "I have to" into "I get to" mindset

Make the habit obvious, attractive, easy, and satisfying and you will increase your adoption

Habits are made by repetition not by time.

Saying Don't vs Can't increases your chances of success by 100%

Make a list of your priorities in your life and force rank them.

What would they say about you in your funeral?

Social edge will come back when I detox over time.

Detoxing will make you a jerk, watch out.

Talk to family before you do this.

Remind yourself of what you don't like about that habit.

Edit (clear out) your environment so that it helps you with the habit

Surround yourself with people share a similar Social contract

Repetition is key for building a habit not time frame.

We are happy, humble, helpful people that want to be healthy and fit now, as well as in our 90's

Make your goals tough but not unattainable

Keystone habit - the habit that must happen for all other habits to occur

One way to keep a habit going is to give it just enough challenge that it’s hard but. If it’s too easy. It’s too hard.
