In most practical use, lightning can only be used to transfer a transaction of 0.015 BTC at a time. Even then, it is very much wallet dependent (the green wallet has failed for example, while some custodian wallets able to handle up to 0.019BTC) and the fees is exorbitant already.

unfortunately, moving 0.016-0.02 BTC onwards is still far from being economical.

the fees still ranges from 13-20USD, which if 0.019 BTC cost 800 USD, you are still paying 2.5% in fees

lightning has huge issue with volume and liquidity. and the gap cant be filled by either choosing lightning or mainnet transaction

facing hurdle at every turn. i am sad

if i am super rich, i would have taken the tulane DrPH program

not feeling well today

They cared about 5 billionaires on a submarine. They cared about 40 beheaded babies that never were. They cared about a few disrupted shipping lanes.

But not about 24,000 murdered innocent Palestinians.

i am at 80% probability on dropping my PhD. reason is financial;

apart from the fact that i have failed to secure a student loan previously, have to pay the first semester fee using Employwe Provident Fund money, have significant pay cut and financially unstable (honestly speaking).

what is next? if I drop my PhD, I have to resign from my university post. unfortunately, that is the rule. worse, i also have to pay back a sum of MYR100k to the university, probably RM1k as installment.

way forward, I am seeking employment elsewhere. I got a job offer with a decent pay rise of 14.5%, but i have to relocate to a different state. i will be distant from my wife until probably later november this year.

however, as of now, i dont observe any predatory clause in the employment contract ( i hope so), plus no abusive work hours ( again, I hope so). i mean, i got a job offer that pays me 54% more, but so many predatory clauses. as a government officer, my job is "kinda secure". but if i venture into the private industry world, my job will be on a rocking rock. but i guess everyone have to take some risk.

plus, i got the opportunity to do overtime. lots of it. so that is where i hope i can rebuild my personal economy.

wish me luck in health and luck in life.
