"Airidah would never stand for it! Unless...oh...something has happened to her..." my dude we just waded here in a fucking ocean of bloated corpses. can you PLEASE buy a clue
this is unrelated, but I just thought of something very funny. anyhow, enjoy this. September of another year. #photography

ugh. had a holdback female San Matias rosy boa but I think she needs to find a new home.
next email I got from developers begins with an "arrgh" so my morning is going as planned, how about yours?

wait. WHO is firing on the Enterprise when time suddenly goes forward? the idiot male alien vanished and the idiot female passed out after she assaulted Data. the Romulans have no reason to fire on the Enterprise.

Shortly after that is one of tng's least-tng scenes, with Troi, Geordi and Picard all making fun of conference lecturers.
It's a weirdly normal scene which feels out of place because Troi and Picard are normally so stodgy.
And later we get Picard's even weirder smiley face.
nostr:npub1c8dwrsfpp7fx53xarq8asdnma5jfgppx28jskyfsdja0pxp5832s8p2vaz I actually like that scene, but you're 100% correct: it is incredibly not TNG. (the smiley face I don't like. something about it is just... off.)
watching the opening of ST:TNG "Timescape" and imagining what it would be like in a post-scarcity environment in which, theoretically, all persons are equal and there's no systemic oppression anywhere (in theory!) - would that behaviour, the come-on, be acceptable? is it only unacceptable now because of power dynamics?
once again, I note that if I commanded the Enterprise, I would have it set up to let me know if someone leaves the ship, versus going "hey computer, do we actually have everyone on board?" so we can have a dramatic *gasp* they're gone scene. every time I watch Schisms. every time
nostr:npub18sk6lc0m5r40vsxqwu4rs0msjvuxw4djxlacl2v9mzajvh3kwyzskddnf8 ours did not have great shelter names. I can’t recall Aurora’s, but Puck was Sneezer (grr) and Sasquatch was Benson and Marrina was Maisy. yours are nice, at least.
nostr:npub19jaudpk508cdd3jehev7dshkpdn69f52su9npn37tk9v6jgx3wvqj8wrad hopefully Quill liked brushing. 😁
nostr:npub18sk6lc0m5r40vsxqwu4rs0msjvuxw4djxlacl2v9mzajvh3kwyzskddnf8 I would love to take credit for it, but our pets are named Aurora (d), Puck, Sasquatch, and Marrina… after a comic series from the Marvel Universe concerning Canadian superheroes. (Puck is a very good name for her in all senses, though. we often joke she is a faery or human turned into a cat.)
Puck also got some travel time. she does like sitting in the sun, and I sat on the concrete with her and we enjoyed the morning.

took pupper for a walk this morning. somehow I once again forgot her Biothane long line in the car, so we used her Star Trek leash. yes, she’s very definitely operations (security).

every time I come across a Khalid track, I like it. (this one hits a little close to home.)
CW: contains flashing lights.
beginning to edit things and realizing that prior to getting the fury of the heavens opened up on me, the northern lights were out and visible.

nostr:npub1gr8tf3fsdjv33jp4akfu3v089mfd4xvmhm85zxwqu0n60c2dtfjqw9c639 Very lucky! I haven't been out to Elk Island this year yet.
nostr:npub1e4sh6ckdmk8xjnqn9j37aup8sf6wllazdxuuvg5dky9q453qat0qdr35mt peak season for photography is September/October, IMO - night falls earlier, fewer biting insects, and if you prefer daylight photography there's all those trees becoming flowers, as Camus noted. still, those summer storms are something else.
