would you travel anywhere without a laptop if it isn't for work? i know many people who wouldn't.

me?

my phone effectively is my laptop. i rarely watch movies or play games and i rarely need to do geeky stuff, so i'm perfectly fine with a phone.

even if my computer died, there is a lot i could still do with a phone, especially if i connected a Bluetooth keyboard to it. it would be the world's tiniest laptop.

ADHD time management app. it would also work for old forgetful people. you need notifications designed for a deaf idiot. i'm almost tempted to say it should be a separate device from your phone. i find notifications on my phone to be a bit unreliable. or i just don't hear them sometimes. my ears kind of turn off. and right now i have two separate apps for it: calendar and another app named Due that keeps nagging me until i do stuff. i kind of wish those two schedules were in one app. and also, the Due app let's you set a sound per event. what i need is a different sound every time there's a notification. my brain just shuts it out if it's the same sound every time. needs to be more unpredictable and surprising. i think this is an example of something people with ADHD would really want, but no one's making that app, and only 5% of people would be interested. and if you have ADHD you're often broke, so it's not the best market segment to sell to...

if i combined all the stuff i'm into at the moment, i'd make some pretty weird music. fretless bass, bongos and talk box anyone? it'll be like Daft Punk went to a smooth jazz club.

Norway thinks it's a small country but Iceland plays in another league

just heard a retired programmer refer to mastodon.social as the "main server"

if i wanted a really effective alarm clock, all it would have to do is burn something and i'd wake up real quick

you know you're an adult when you smell something burning in the middle of the night and you get up to investigate

i think i have an iron somewhere because there was this ONE time
