Migrated to @thj.

there are some people i'd love to have as users on berserker.town but they don't come here, which is fair enough

extremely successful person: i'm completely clueless.

some junkie you met on the street: have you read anything by Schopenhauer?

are you the kind of bum who sleeps on a park bench or the kind of bum who owns a summer home in the south of France?

there are regions in the world where not having access to air conditioning puts you at a serious disadvantage. you're not at your mental peak when you're overheating.

there are many things i hate about winter, but a lack of mental clarity isn't one of them. you can just concentrate better when it's cold.

those with money can tech their way out of climate change to some degree

if you're not in that group, you're fucked

AI is crazy because we're creating tech we don't fully understand

"throw something interesting at me, life."

"not in that way!"

once my visitor leaves, the dumb thing is i'm probably gonna miss him a bit, despite feeling irritated right now.

i was thinking how much i'd have to charge to feel it's worth it to let random people stay over at my apartment.

as it turns out, i'm not quite as hospitable as i imagined, and i'd probably not offer a very good deal. i like having my home to myself, so they'd be paying a bit more than they think is fair...

guys i take it all back, listening to someone snoring is 10X more annoying than anything i ever experienced on the Internet

nostr:npub1cuscsrz6efq99ptktk26x58v4yqy9y46ytp8xw4rjjwq0wlt6znst66789 Yeah, that's a bit extreme. I would like to get rid of my smartphone though. I hate it and hate that I've become dependent on it. I'd love to go back to a flip phone but I need my phone for work and as a condition of ongoing employment. Granted work gives me a very generous stipend which pays for all but 10 dollars of my monthly bill.

i hate that when i search for "vagabond" on the Internet, i get this crap (picture 1) instead of information about vagabonds or the word vagabond, and i have to type it like this (picture 2) to get that.

a vagabond's idea of cloud services is random people he encounters on his travels. life but it's all improvisation and no planning.

the Swedish vagabond visitor doesn't use smartphones and keeps his dumbphone off to "avoid being tracked". bit of an extremist there.

instead of using a smartphone, he gets other people who have them to check things for him, or borrows other people's computers.

they say that the cloud is just "other people's computers"

this guy is using cloud services but next level 😆

i went nuts from not having a chair to sit in, so my Swedish visitor, who has been loafing for the past few months and is staying over the weekend, said, "just let me sleep on the balcony then" when i offered him to borrow my bed while i'm up. said he didn't want to use a bed because he'd just miss it too much. he'd rather sleep outdoors.

he also wanted me to keep the door open, but i'm cold, so i brought out a space heater to keep warm. the apartments here aren't individually metered anyway, so it's not going to make a dent in my power bill...
