nostr:npub1dlhzpax8qh6pja2t28sgl2gw28eclwp3052q9k0rkzjgul28xzkqvzramv it's like being a geek but for church. i'm a bit fascinated to be honest.

nostr:npub1dlhzpax8qh6pja2t28sgl2gw28eclwp3052q9k0rkzjgul28xzkqvzramv yeah, that kind of person, who attends more than just Sunday service and really seems to like church. might even attend the funeral of a stranger. it's something else.

we've had driverless cars for a long time

oh you mean ones that move around?

church life seems very lifey-deathey - it's always someone's baptism, confirmation, wedding or funeral

one of the things i find most challenging is to find out where "my people" are at for any given thing X that i like. i like a lot of things that are popular with social circles i never encountered and don't know where to find.

kind of strange how you kind of have to pick a specific thing to bond with people over, because you're never going to find anyone who likes all the stuff you do. so then you kind of have to choose.

nostr:npub1l2zeqhukq3rnlqs4ge2hw04ymj5p8gql4dvqj0e4erfu34nvltmqmxhs74 i think the warnings are for people who won't listen anyway, if you know what i mean - the people who end up on the news because they decided "this extremely rainy day is the perfect day to cross this dangerous mountain pass with the rock slide warning signs all over them"

nostr:npub1l2zeqhukq3rnlqs4ge2hw04ymj5p8gql4dvqj0e4erfu34nvltmqmxhs74 it was blown up seriously by both the institute of meteorology and the news media. people in the red zone were warned to travel carefully. danger of mudslides and floods. they seem to have overshot the forecast a bit, because i don't think it was that bad.

nostr:npub1l2zeqhukq3rnlqs4ge2hw04ymj5p8gql4dvqj0e4erfu34nvltmqmxhs74 they talked of the worst rain in 25 years, but yeah, i'm a bit underwhelmed over here. but that explains why they felt it was necessary to warn everyone. they thought it was going to be serious.

nostr:npub1ulntzghcwqnzdqdz4vsqhsshlulzsjsetwgzm76xcpss6nzjy9xs0yzdch they published a post about receiving pets that are too sick to treat. they didn't bring them in soon enough due to money issues. not enough people know about this clinic yet since it's fairly new. i can see why they'd want some national media coverage. the whole idea is to help sooner rather than later.

here at the Institute of Advanced Hysterics, we never take anything in stride

...aaaahhhh! 😱

thanks, but i said "i need to scream", not "i need ice cream"

sometimes i get the urge to set up an alternative news site.
