corrupt french politicians have just legalized spying on protestors - very common anti-protest tactic now - compromise phones: track location, activate mics and cameras, read messages
if you are protesting - anywhere in the world - leave your phone at home - if you need comms consider radios or buy a burner with cash
for secure messaging I recommend signal or simplex - disappearing messages enabled just in case someone gets arrested

on iOS opens damus
on android opens amethyst
In browser, rotates client
we should get nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh to make a Japanese rotating client version for browser
If someone translates we can add. π€
Hey guys nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh maybe you could eventually use NIP-89 to choose an appropriate app, instead of a fixed list of Damus/Amethyst/Iris/Snort/Coracle ?
Yes, we would like to add right now is just some nginx magic doing the work. We will add more apps to the randomizer for mobile now habe some other good options.
nostr-filter "relay"
https://github.com/imksoo/nostr-filter
nostr-filter is a very interesting "relay", it is not really a relay it's more a filter relay that you run before your relay. it can be used to filter events, user, ip addresses, content... the best part of it, it can be run before any relay and it sends then only the filtered events to your own relay.
That is an interesting project. We do similar with strfry and policies but might be good to offload that filtering.
Welcome to the nostr relay community! Created for relay operators and those wanting to learn more about relays.
We are very happy with our relays performance in the recent #grownostr additions. Like other platforms we are always battling spam and bad bots. Will be updating our site with the relays we stream from. All are run through our filters for blatent spam or unsolicited comment bots. You still need to fine tune your preferences in your client of choice.
Current relays we stream with:
```
relay.damus.io
purplepag.es
relay.snort.social
nostr.wine
nos.lol
nostr21.com
relay.wellorder.net
nostr.mom
```
More to come in our site updates to coincide with the new relay builds. Please DM us any other relay suggestions or if a relay operator, feel free to stream up/down to our relays.

Damus, Snort, Wine, will make post with full list. π
Not seen 'em ππ€π
We have added some more shitcoin spam bots to the filtering and active measures. #nostr #grownostr
Feel free to submit any note IDs or npubs to us via DM. Our honeypot accounts might miss some examples in the wild.

nostr:npub16fcy8ynknssdv7s487nh4p2h4vr3aun64lpfea45d7h4sts9jheqevshgh seems like the relay is down. Is everything alright? πΆπΎπ₯
No issues on our side.
Yes, we architected Relayable to be an equivalent of a relay "backbone provider". So smaller relays can stream to/from us. We also stream down from many other relays to help with decentralization and keep data outside the walled gardens of Cloudflare (as example). While applying our same policies to prevent the bot spam from those relays.
We'd be open to the idea but a lot of caveats could be uncovered.
>> June 2023 Report <<
Hosting costs: $905.03 USD
Sats donated: 1,773,202 ($532.05 USD)
Total unique relay users across all six geo relays:
110,151
This is a 33% increase over May! πͺ
In June we had a Canadian server donated with 3 more being donated for July! This will help us reach a break-even point sooner. We applied for grants early May but never heard back so pursing more sponsors to donate servers. We plan to be off AWS by August! π
Our updated relays now block common shitcoin and comment spam. You may still need to mute/report in client but this should alleviate the brunt of it. Please DM us with any examples.
Thanks for the π«ππ€PV!

Good discussion with nostr:npub1wmr34t36fy03m8hvgl96zl3znndyzyaqhwmwdtshwmtkg03fetaqhjg240, Christine Lemmer-Webber (ActivityPub), and Golda Velez (BlueSky) on Open Social Media.

We are linking directly to Rabble's section but the whole session is worth watching! π€
We're still trying to figure out why nostr people go to Twitter to screen shot and post it on nostr. The world may never know...
RIP phone battery. πͺ¦π€£
