hilarious piece of UX cruelty: if someone you follow here manually quote-posts someone who has blocked you *and* you’re using an app that displays quoted posts inline (Ivory, Mona, etc) …you see the Forbidden Posts, but then when you try to star or bookmark them, you get an error until you finally, belatedly figure it out 💀
don’t get me wrong: blocking is wonderful, more people should block me! but I probably won’t manually QP/QT anymore now that I’ve seen the security hole it creates, yikes

I no longer have that problem. I took care when joining an instance to find one that had sufficient resources and experience to manage the instance. I am not a "techie" but understand the SM basics. I moved from one of stux’s servers because I wanted a slightly different blocklist. I think stux generally does a great job and made a couple of very human mistakes. I also appreciate the work the Art admin does.
I think if more inter-admin discussion took place in arenas that tend toward de-escalation, that might be productive.
