I was just at a massive CrossFit competition with 100s of people there. Cellphone coverage sucked because the tower was overloaded. Wi-Fi had the same issue. But if everyone is only communicating locally, the burden becomes more manageable.

I can see schools running their own relays and whitelisting student npub's to have inner-school social media. Of course all the content would probably be censored out to wazoo if it's school run, but I can imagine it.
All the curriculum is on the relays and each student brings their own client best suited to their learning style. This model could apply to many different models aside from a school.
Conference? Setup a local area network relay and whitelist with npub's that are tied to event tickets.
