Thinking of doing another “Bitcoin for Progressives” Nostr Nest and focusing on the upcoming political cycle and RFK Jr.
Curious to hear from everyone, regardless of political/non-political affiliation. Looking to schedule for next week or the week after 🤙🏻

More then ever, I believe the White House is opposing #bitcoin at all costs (literally) because insiders believe foreign governments can move around sanctions and off the USD a bit easier through bitcoin (but not really). They are opposed from a national security, global power dominance perspective. We can argue the merits, but I think that’s their #1 reason.
They throw the false and misleading “bitcoin is bad for the environment” as the cherry on top.
Anyway, I’m super excited for the global south and our non-western brothers and sisters who are getting and adopting bitcoin, opting out, and these nations who have been under the heel of western imperialism for too long and paving their own way. It’s beautiful ✌🏻

Bitcoin is not for the colonizer; it is for the colonized.
The West, with America as its lead, is the colonizer.
The colonized are waking to their opt out, with El Salvador leading by example.
How silly and narrow of me to think the US will care…any personal gains from bitcoin for any of us is tiny compared to the global impact bitcoin will have on the influence of the colonizer over the colonized. The world will flip on its head from the way things have been.
I’m more hopeful than ever on this.

Finally cracking into this #[3] ✌🏻
Seeing more normies on twitter talk about bluesky…maybe more nostr soon? Good stuff brewing for decentralized open protocols! Thanks Elon!
Past couple of weeks I’ve been involved with several meetings, conferences, and events revolving around career pathways programs for low-income young adults. I believe more than ever in the power of exposing these young people to these programs, to give them the opportunity to see their value and dream big for themselves and create that economic mobility and self-sufficiency. Their concern is immediate, but I’m hoping at some point to introduce #bitcoin into the fold
These folks don’t come from private wealth. They don’t have the opportunity to simply “pull themselves up by their bootstraps”. This targeted, public funding works. And feeling honored to have an influence in the space
Oh damn it’s real
In other news, LETS GO CELTICS 🍀
Banks in trouble, folks get ‘em some btc (even if it is bc they believe more liquidity will enter the system)
I’ve been a registered democrat my whole [voting] life. I’ve been growing increasingly frustrated with the Democratic Party since 2016, seeing the collective effort of powers that be snub Bernie in favor of Hillary Clinton.
Today, that frustration has culminated to my decision to leave the Democratic Party, as I have now officially switched my voter registration to no-party/independent. With the unwavering support of Biden, and the DNC’s decision to not support any primary debates against Biden, imo this truly is an attack on a free and fair election. Media and communication holds immense power, and with every democratic politician past and present sharing their unwavering support for Biden, the voters have been stripped of any other option in the party despite 70+% of citizens against Biden seeking reflection.
My values and convictions have not changed. I still consider myself a progressive, and as many in bitcoin I am deeply concerned with and skeptical of our whole political and economic system. I am in no way supportive of the Republican Party at this time either, and I don’t know where may vote will land, if at all, in this next election. It all seems utterly grim and hopeless.
What I am hopeful about is the collective voice of citizens, and #bitcoin. We are fixing the money, and thus one step closer to fixing the world. While things may get worse before they get better, I do believe they will get better.
Much love ✌🏻
Everyone saying #nostr sucks or laughing at the rollercoaster of engagement/users fails to understand that the protocol is built for the long haul—apps and users will come and go—but we’re in it for the long hall, just like #bitcoin
Is nostr.wine the only relay jumping to monthly charges at this point? Great relay, just curious what the landscape is like these days?
