The suit accused Facebook-Instagram of overcharging them by fraudulently inflating the number of people their ads might reach. Per reports there are over 100,000,000 bot accounts on Instagram alone. Facebook-Instagram removes only a small percentage of bot accounts, possibly because the bots post a large amount of inflammatory content which Facebook-Instagram algorithms then amplify to make Facebook-Instagram more money per whistleblower reports.
