This interesting study looked at after people have a heart attack how the emotional and mental stress of having a heart attack increases healthcare costs via additional ER visits, hospitalizations etc. People who have a higher income, are able to exercise, etc felt less stress and had less healthcare related visits and costs. An important area to consider is setting up for patients ways to manage emotional and mental stress prior to their initial hospital discharge. This should be done by health insurance companies and Medicaid/Medicare as it will also save them money. 🇺🇸

Can we expect the US stock market to decline all year or for the next 4 years? Tax cuts promoted by the White House are for most Americans substantially less than what they will end up paying in higher costs from tariffs and inflation, so how will this help the economy? 🇺🇸 Stocks tumble, deepening February’s decline, as Trump affirms tariffs coming. US weekly jobless claims also rose more than expected, and tariffs and inflation are increasing prices for Americans suggesting Americans will cut back on spending, but for how long?

This is especially interesting given the growing popularity of cold plunges. There was a stronger association for people who were aged ≥65 years, female, or lived in the south.
