SVB didn't cause Credit Suisse to fall, but it was a catalyst for it, and it will be for other banks. As the opening dialogue for TFTC with #[0]

goes "If you're not paying attention, you probably should be". Buy bitcoin...stay humble...stack sats.

Broke 200 followers in under 2 months. Cool beans.

#[0] and/or #[1] can I DM one of you, had a thought on something.

#[0] (and other Twitter frenz) when a person was Verified on Twitter (legacy status) what was the review process like for notability? I think the new process is kinda stupid and mostly theatre (I got my company account verified, and no one ran any checks on how official the account was).

Been a minute but realised I never shared my story with bitcoin:

I grew up in a low-income household, and a surprising number of people just didn’t have bank accounts, or more accurately, couldn’t have access. They couldn’t afford IDs, couldn’t afford the travel to a bank, etc. As I got older, realised that the system was designed to ensure that only a select few (even if that figure was in the millions) could access banks and loans. In late 2014, I stumbled on a YouTube video from Tested with Adam Savage (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnm4xFC2xNo) where they bought bitcoin, the process seemed so…easy to me. And in a second, I was orange pilled. Realised how not all of our problems would be solved by bitcoin (as an economist, required a structural rewrite) but it solved enough for me to say “wow, this is actually really cool” and…well that’s my anti-climatic story of how i got orange pilled.

#[0] inspired me to use notes as my to do list a few years back. Found it to be the simplest way to keep track of my thoughts.

Bitcoin is back down to $20,000. But the comedy of this is that it’s still a functional currency. Sure it sends a lot of people into a frenzy but for 99% of holders who use it as a currency it’s just another Saturday.

GN everyone. Happy Tuesday.

Since I saw a post from #[0] tempted to see if anyone here would want to start a ham radio club for Nostr?

It's relatively inexpensive to get into the hobby (truly, in its simplest form it's just a radio and an antenna, you can really TX (transmit) on anything). If you're just looking to get started (and in the US) you can get your technicians license (three classes of license, tech general and extra) and start transmitting and building. US is one of the only countries that says "here's a license and a call sign, go have fun".

FT8 when I'm at work (fun to quickly make contacts and get "wallpaper" QSL cards). Usually on 20m or 18.

Something I encourage people to do (whenever they feel able) is to get into charitable giving. Taxes aside, I've never (personally) felt bad about giving money to a foundation I care about.

#[0] & #[1] testing some badges, did you all recieve? https://badges.page

GM Party People! How’s everyone today?

GM Everyone. Happy Monday!

#[0] what BTC wallet do you use to cold store your Bitcoin? Is it the Trezor you showed a while back? I'm rethinking my BTC wallet stuff.

#[0] what’s the logic behind me following my own account on Nostr? Something I noticed recently.
