Hillbilly philosopher. Seeking excellence. I build things.

One thing is certain, I'm no Bobby Fischer.

I wonder about some of the folks around here too. I want to love Nostr, but coming here to escape the trash of other social media platforms is akin to leaving the city for the country, only to find yourself surrounded by folks yelling through a bullhorn about how great the countryside is and how everyone should be there.

Does this mean my coffee is radioactive?

🤔 Obviously I need more friends/new people to follow here. 90% of my feed is reposts of the same exact thing.

Wow! I listened to this on my way to work this morning. It's an incredible call to biblical manliness: https://youtu.be/_CfMnG2Nll8?si=8kHzp7mVjQnFyiKr

I'm compiling keys to winning at life.

The most recent one added is "Lean into resistance. It's the best indicator you're on the right path."

What's YOUR biggest key to winning at life?

I wore a FitBit for awhile, and really like knowing what was going on with myself. I didn't like that FitBit (and who knows who else) had my data. I also didn't like that it made my wrist and hand ache. The ache went away almost the minute I quit wearing it.

The moment you react to someone/thing, you are giving control of yourself away.

The August book of the month for my men's book club is Proverbs.

It's every bit as good as any of the best selling personal development books out there.

Mindset? Gotcha covered.

Mission? All over it.

Family? It's there.

Fitness? That too.

Finance? In spades.

No matter which of the 5 keys you want to go deeper in, you can level up with the book of Proverbs.

Do you have a favorite chapter or verse?

No. If kids run around doing whatever they want with no consequences, there's a near 100% chance they'll turn into "adults" who do whatever they want and expect.....no consequences.

Stop asking what life has FOR you.

Start asking what life is demanding FROM you.

That’s where your purpose begins.

Why Does Time Fly By So Fast?

Ever think to yourself, "I can't believe it's already May"?

Me too—it seems like time goes by faster every year. But what if you could slow things down and make every day count?

I just learned a simple habit that can help you remember each moment, build a more memorable life, and break the cycle of days just RUSHING by.

In the the book "Storyworthy" by Matthew Dicks, he shares how writing down one quick story from your day can change the way you see your life and time.

My takeaways:

Why time feels like it goes faster as we grow up.

The importance of creating and remembering memorable experiences.

A simple daily habit (Homework for Life) that helps you appreciate each day.

Easy steps to stay present and remember more of your life.

Ready to make every day count? Try "Homework for Life" and see the difference for yourself!

You’ll never rise higher than the picture you carry of yourself.

Your vision of yourself isn't just motivational fluff. It shapes your decisions, your habits, and your outcomes.

If you keep seeing yourself as stuck, broken, or behind—you’ll keep living that reality.

But when you begin to visualize the man you’re becoming—disciplined, grounded, purpose-driven—you start showing up differently. You act like him. You think like him. And eventually… you become him.

Don’t just dream it. See it. Speak it. Walk it.

Who do you see when you look in the mirror of your mind?

Theory:

Your brain is sabotaging your success and keeping you stuck—preventing you from building the life/business you want.

---

Your brain can only answer the questions you feed it, and most times you’re asking it the WRONG questions.

---

You ask:

Why am I stuck?

Why am I not succeeding?

Why am I not motivated?

Why is my business not successful?

Your brain is looking for all the reasons of “WHY NOT.”

---

This will only generate excuses, not SOLUTIONS.

---

Instead, you should be asking:

WHAT is making me feel stuck, and HOW can I work past it and succeed?

WHAT are motivated people doing that I’m missing?

HOW can I adopt what successful businesses are doing and replicate it in mine?

---

This gives your brain a SOLUTION focus rather than a cause focus.

Better Outcomes

How do you shift your mindset to find solutions and get unstuck?

How come on days when I don't bring food with me to work I don't get hungry, but when I do, all I want to do is eat it? 🤷

Maybe there's a lesson in there.

I find it interesting how some people can remember everything from the past, with not much thought given to the future. While the next person thinks ONLY of the future and hardly ever remembers who/what/when/where/why of anything. And still the next person livee only in the moment, never considering the past for it's lessons, or the future for its possibilities.

The key is to blend all three.

Live every moment, FULLY PRESENT in the moment, simultaneously building on and working towards the future you want to create, AND allowing yourself to be guided by lessons and experiences from the past.

Remembering the past,

Living in the present,

Creating your future!
