A Republican provision in the House’s fiscal 2024 defense policy bill would block the Defense Department — the world’s largest institutional emitter of fossil fuels — from implementing the president’s seven climate change executive orders, which seek to achieve net-zero emissions in all federal agencies by 2050.

If young voters vote Republican I have no sympathy for the world they’ll inherit.

The plan, known as Project 2025, calls for shredding regulations to curb greenhouse gas pollution from cars, oil & gas wells and power plants, dismantling almost every clean energy program in the federal government & boosting the production of fossil fuels — the burning of which is the chief cause of planetary warming.

The New York Times asked the leading Republican presidential candidates whether they support the Project 2025 strategy but none of the campaigns responded.
