The app developer has to be in the EU, the user has to be in the EU, they’ve got to have been an apple app developer for over 2 years, and to have over a million installs of your app. Plus a ton of other requirements…. It's not like it wasn't bound to start happening at some point, Mastodon is not truly decentralized, it only replaced global centralization with local centralization, all posts and user data are still kept on lone servers with no redundancy. It's better than what Twitter does but still far from ideal
