It's been a few days since i logged on, but been following recent developments via the likes of Citadel Dispatch and RHR on zap.stream so i guess that counts.
The Samourai Wallet news hit me hard. I largely steered clear of the drama over the years, and i can't speak to whether they broke any laws.
But they built a tool that hundreds - if not thousands - of human rights activists and freedom fighters used to protect their families' privacy and safety. If law enforcement does deanonymize these users' transactions (and I fear that they will), it is incumbent upon them to carefully guard (ie encrypt or destroy) that data. I'm not optimistic.
We must defend our own privacy if we are tk havy any...Let us proceed together apace. Onward.

When politicians create fiat money, at will, out of thin air, it means the citizens of that country effectively lose their freedom to object to war. If a government must sell war bonds and/or rsise taxes to fund a war, the citizenry will only support it (and buy the bonds, and comply with the tax hikes) if that war poses an existential threat to those people, themselves.
With fiat, governments are incentivized to print money and funnel it into "causes" (whether these causes are righteous or not is beside the point), in order to fund the corporations, lobbyists, super PACs, war industry, etc, who will keep those politicians in power.
The incentives are simply broken.
