I'm not buying anymore Apple products until they get their shit together. I'm on an old iPhone X that I was going to replace and splurge on. But instead, I'm going to dust off an old Android phone for Zaps. Thinking my next splurge phone is going to have to be Open Source.
Yo! This is tight! I'm the right amount of high for this. Please send more.
Zap, right-click, download. Thanks for the transaction. π«Ά
US giving itself a pat on the back because of the new CPI data. Yet, I still can't afford to eat twice a day. If it weren't for the Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag Meals, I'd have to intermittent fast.

π€ You got a point. But I prefer verify instead of trust.
This country is ditching its currency for US Dollar. Here's why.
I stopped trying to unplug some of my family members from the matrix. I honestly believe, bitcoin is not for everyone, and I'm okay with that. You're either going to understand the protocol and obtain some. Or a crisis might force you into it. I don't see governments taking a pause on debasing money.
If you are privileged to have a credit card, and bank account, you might think bitcoin is not for you. But how many money crisis do we have left before you are forced to pay attention?

Ah, fudge it! I need the sats to give away to the plebs. Please don't make me regret it.

F Ledger and this guy. Government is exactly why we need safe cold storage. They are the number one threat... to everything. #Bitcoin #Ledger

One of the reason's why I bitcoin is that it can't be confiscated without me handing over my keys. I can't hand over what I don't know under duress. I'd literally start making shit up.
For a "Bitcoin" conference. There sure are a lot of shitcoiners, and fudsters on there. I had to stop feeding the trolls.
To the plebs defending Ledger. Tell you what, just give me a refund for my Nano X, and I'll sit my ass down. Here is a lightning invoice for convenience.

To me it boils down to this. I was sold a "cold" storage device. "Hardware wallets are designed to keep private keys off the internet and away from the online connection points that hackers can get to." Quote from Ledger's documentation.
I don't care that it's split into three shards and encrypted. Ledger's now have the ability to send information about your keys to third parties "online".
Do you now see how it completely defeats the purpose of a "cold" storage product with a feature update? Doesn't matter if I need to opt-in. The attack vector is now there. This is now a hot-wallet to me.

By all means, please continue to use Ledger. Don't opt-in and be a happy pleb.
If a device can send your seed out. Even if it's split and encrypted. That makes it a hot wallet. I got to trust closed source software that they will not send out my seed as long I don't opt-in?
I trusted them in the past to keep my information safe, and now my mailbox is flooded with phishing attempts. Because their third party got hacked.
You really think that this won't be exploited in the future?
Cheers!
I think you should just setup new keys. Better safe than sorry. IMO.
I agree with you that you have to opt-in to use that feature. But with Ledger being closed source, I have to trust their word without verifying.
The point of cold storage in my opinion was that the keys should never leave the device. I just don't want another possible attack vector to worry about.
