I run a personal relay/blossom server. It's super simple to do. Took me maybe 10 minutes to get running, most of that waiting was buying the domain and setting up the VPS.

Funny that for many people, just having been early enough is indication of intelligence. Most of these folks really just got lucky, and gained conviction after hitting the jackpot.

I agree with you which is why I’ve always looked at these social welfare programs as a type of bonus rather than as supplementary income.
I work and save with what I know I have, and if I get something extra then great. If not then I know I won’t be fucked because I planned accordingly.

My one wishlist item for Nostr is the ability to out DMs behind a paywall where I can set a number of sats for anyone I don’t follow to DM me.
I’d prefer for this to be on the client side but the best implementation is probably on a relay. I would assume it would require a NIP to make it happen but I’m here for it.
