I’m allergic to faux-intellectual blowhards, and have found there are more among bitcoiners than I would have initially guessed.

Sorry :/

😭🤣

My favs are the ones who’ve written Bitcoin books I’ve never heard of and who get insulted that I don’t know who they are when I meet them IRL

LMFAO and this is why I don’t go to bitcoin conferences or meetups 🤣🤣

Hahaha. I mean it’s kind of a fun experience to watch their ego get hurt if you’re ever in the mood to troll

Had that awkward encounter in person once at a Bitcoin event.

Him: "Do you know who I am?"

Me: "No."

same here

I tried to be nice, told him I wasn't aware of his work but asked him to tell me about it

went nowhere

Funny that for many people, just having been early enough is indication of intelligence. Most of these folks really just got lucky, and gained conviction after hitting the jackpot.

Many did get lucky when it comes to bitcoin but I can respect the conviction they had to deepen their understanding and hold through massive price swings. Not for the faint of heart. The problem is that too many then assume that means they’re smart about EVERYTHING else too and they’re just not 😂😂

Fact check: true. I’ve met IRL only one person in to bitcoin earlier than me, although I know hundreds exist. Everyone I’ve known has made some retrospectively unwise moves with bitcoin. Some epically so.

I am curious how many earlier Bitcoiners, say pre 2013, (a) still actually have their coins, (b) just cashed out and disappeared with their wealth.

Bitcoin wealth at the time was enough to buy stuff like a used car…a lot of people weren’t well off and were young when they got in to bitcoin. Long term thinking clashed harshly with the realities of being poor…try walking to work in subzero temperatures while knowing your bitcoin could buy a used car. Many cashed out. The mindset back then was sell half at the next bubble. But never sell more than half. But hard to resist.

Zeroth rule of Bitcoin: everyone is a scammer.

😂🤝

Guy Faux is my absolute fav intellectual. You've probably not heard of him.

Wears a mask

80 IQ retarded Bitcoiners FTW

This is how I found out about that I can unfollow people. 🤷 But probably they're just smart for me...

Those people also tend to be very rigid in their thinking despite claiming to be free thinkers, too.

Getting one thing right makes them believe they are right about everything else. Mindnumbingly painful to listen to.

💯🤣
