I heard the claim today that both Tucker Carlson and his father were "spooks" (that is, members of the intelligence community). Can anyone confirm or deny?

At least in the old days leaders like Alexander the Great or Pharaoh Ramesses II would physically leader their armies themselves and also put themselves in harm's way.

One hopes to depart this life in a somewhat dignified manner...
Now is it really the cops' fault for showing up late?
Or was it the pastor's fault for not being armed?
Or, as the atheist and Calvinist might say, is God to blame?
"It is incredible how as soon as a people become subject, it promptly falls into such complete forgetfulness of its freedom that it can hardly be roused to the point of regaining it, obeying so easily and willingly that one is led to say that this people has not so much lost its liberty as won its enslavement."

Americans now live in the future the Anti-federalists warned about:
"Deliberate, therefore, on this new national government with coolness; analize it with criticism; and reflect on it with candor: if you find that the influence of a powerful few, or the exercise of a standing army, will always be directed and exerted for your welfare alone, and not to the aggrandizement of themselves, and that it will secure to you and your posterity happiness at home, and national dignity and respect from abroad, adopt it; if it will not, reject it with indignation-better to be where you are for the present, than insecure forever afterwards."

You share some good content, too. π
And Broadmode was another alias. nostr:npub1x458tl7h9xcxa66vr4a8pg0h2qz96pnhwnfpcra0le9090uk5t5qw7armt used to post on themes similar to yours. But that account appears to have not posted for over a month...
Another question: are you the same guy that went by the previous names of Cleus and Laser?
Some of those headlines are from zerohedge, but no links are provided...
That was the year Woodrow Wilson took office, one of the United States' worst presidents...π©
But I think more of America's problems also go back to the "Civil War" and it's aftermath, due to perhaps the U.S.' worst president ever (present occupant excluded):

If you support the U.S. government, and you do when you pay taxes, the you support an organization that hired Nazis. Not only NASA but also the CIA.
That was one of three great evils that befell America in 1913, the other two being the establishment of the income tax and the Federal Reserve.
Yep. That shows how quickly the "best government ever devised by the mind of man" was weaponized against the formerly free peoples of America.
I agree, and I do think today America suffers from defects in it's Constitution and confederation, perhaps due in part to dishonest money, and certainly due to want of honor and virtue.
