Look at this one then, from another occasion, quoted in Luke 10:25-28. The same commandment from the Law is cited, Deut. 6:5, which in the original Hebrew states (instead of "the LORD"): "You shall love YHWH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."

Wouldn't you agree that by telling the lawyer to do this ("love YHWH, etc.") and he would live/have eternal life, that Jesus was endorsing this commandment to love YHWH?

"Every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."

–H. L. Mencken

Interesting interpretation, to say the least. If YHWH is the devil/Satan, why would Jesus tell the Jews to love him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength (Matt. 22:37, Mark 12:30)?

This reminded me of when I read the story of "Rip Van Winkle" by Washington Irving, first published in 1819. You might recall that Rip Van Winkle was a guy that went into the woods one day, drank some strong spirits given to him by strange Dutchmen (dwarves?), and fell asleep, not waking for 20 years.

When he does wake up, the world is very changed, and he learns "How that there had been a revolutionary war--that the country had thrown off the yoke of old England--and that, instead of being a subject to his Majesty George the Third, he was now a free citizen of the United States."

Prior to his long slumber: "For a long while he used to console himself, when driven from home [by his shrewish wife], by frequenting a kind of perpetual club of the sages, philosophers, and other idle personages of the village, which held its sessions on a bench before a small inn, designated by a rubicund portrait of his Majesty George the Third. Here they used to sit in the shade through a long, lazy summer's day, talking listlessly over village gossip, or telling endless, sleepy stories about nothing. But it would have been worth any statesman's money to have heard the profound discussions which sometimes took place, when by chance an old newspaper fell into their hands from some passing traveller. How solemnly they would listen to the contents, as drawled out by Derrick Van Bummel, the school-master, a dapper learned little man, who was not to be daunted by the most gigantic word in the dictionary; and how sagely they would deliberate upon public events some months after they had taken place."

But now twenty years later, after the Revolution: "...Instead of the great tree that used to shelter the quiet little Dutch inn of yore, there now was reared a tall naked pole, with something on the top that looked like a red nightcap, and from it was fluttering a flag, on which was a singular assemblage of stars and stripes--all this was strange and incomprehensible. He recognized on the sign, however, the ruby face of King George, under which he had smoked so many a peaceful pipe, but even this was singularly metamorphosed. The red coat was changed for one of blue and buff, a sword was held in the hand instead of a sceptre, the head was decorated with a cocked hat, and underneath was painted in large characters, "GENERAL WASHINGTON."

"There was, as usual, a crowd of folk about the door, but none that Rip recollected. The very character of the people seemed changed. There was a busy, bustling, disputatious tone about it, instead of the accustomed phlegm and drowsy tranquillity. He looked in vain for the sage Nicholas Vedder, with his broad face, double chin, and fair long pipe, uttering clouds of tobacco-smoke, instead of idle speeches; or Van Bummel, the schoolmaster, doling forth the contents of an ancient newspaper. In place of these, a lean, bilious-looking fellow, with his pockets full of handbills, was haranguing, vehemently about rights of citizens-elections--members of Congress--liberty--Bunker's hill--heroes of seventy-six-and other words, which were a perfect Babylonish jargon to the bewildered Van Winkle.

"The appearance of Rip, with his long, grizzled beard, his rusty fowling-piece, his uncouth dress, and the army of women and children at his heels, soon attracted the attention of the tavern politicians. They crowded round him, eying him from head to foot, with great curiosity. The orator bustled up to him, and, drawing him partly aside, inquired, "on which side he voted?" Rip stared in vacant stupidity. Another short but busy little fellow pulled him by the arm, and rising on tiptoe, inquired in his ear, "whether he was Federal or Democrat....""

What struck me about the story is that instead of philosophy people were now arguing politics, and everyone was divided into two camps and continual debate, in contrast to the tranquility that existed in previous times during the rule of the king.

"Well, what about all the taxes and intolerable acts that led up to the Revolution?" I know, but just let me enjoy my pre-democratic-republic fantasy for a moment...

Sehr schön!

I have to believe those colors have been enhanced.

I think the odds are in favor of them stealing it again...

"The Democrats having moved Biden out of the picture are set to steal the November election. Democrats in the swing states have legalized and institutionalized the theft mechanisms they used to steal the 2020 and 2022 national elections. For example, the Democrat state Supreme Court in Wisconsin overturned the ban on drop boxes, thus making it possible for invalid ballots to become part of the vote count. A large number of such practices that enable electoral fraud are now legal in the swing states.

"Democrats could not steal the election with Biden as candidate as no one would believe he won. Biden was moved out of the way. Now polls are being rigged showing Kamala leading Trump by 3 points. The rigged polls create public believability of a Kamala win. If the Democrats did not intend to steal the election, they would not have legalized the theft mechanisms in the swing states.

"The public accepted the last two stolen national elections and will accept a third. A people this insouciant have no chance of preserving their liberty and the accountability of government."

Paul Craig Roberts says the U.S. is Israel's puppet; I think he may be right:

"So where does America’s leadership class come from?

"It comes from the Jews. The Secretary of the Treasury is a Jew. The Secretary of State is a Jew. The Secretary of Homeland Security is a Jew. Finance, media, Hollywood and entertainment are in the hands of Jews. As Netanyahu told Congress yesterday, every Jew is a Zionist, a defender of Israel. And every American who is not a defender of Israel is an anti-semite. John V. Whitbeck describes the total humiliation of “Proud America” on its knees kissing Netanyahu’s feet. A totally conquered country whose obeisance is shown with 58 standing ovations. https://www.counterpunch.org/2024/07/25/american-obeisance/ "

"The waves of new crises, events and narradigms are being used to keep public discourse constantly moving from one topic to another, so no one can focus too closely on anything. It is entirely up to us to continue gnawing the bone until we’ve sucked out all the marrow."

The “Stories” on nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch provide a different nostr experience.

Instead of seeing a mixed feed, you see the feed one friend at a time with their latest notes in consecutive order.

I don’t think any client offers this experience.

"Meanwhile, if Trump enters office again the rioting America dealt with in 2020 will be a cakewalk compared to 2025. Progressives claim they are “protecting democracy” but you will see very quickly that as soon as democracy doesn’t go their way they will abandon it in a heartbeat and seek to prevail using other methods.

"This means a campaign of “monkey wrenching” followed by riots, looting and disruptions in major cities."

"His [Muhammad's] humour was dry: once an old woman asked if Allah allowed old women into Paradise. No, he replied. She started to weep, at which he added, ‘He changes them first into nubile virgins.’"

I would be interested to know how much it costs a relay operator to host my individual data, to get a sense of how much I should contribute to them, at a minimum. 🤔 If it cost a lot, that could get me to cut back on my number of relays! 😄

I've actually thought about creating a new npub and adding tons and tons of relays, as an experiment, to see if it would enhance or degrades my Nostr experience... 🧑‍🔬

Some say that the "Sons of God," which are also called "angels" and are extraterrestrial beings, came to Earth in the past and found human women beautiful and married them and had children by them...
