Plague, war….

They might store us there on chain assets. Bitcoin is auditable by the people.

Thoughts on why Ads is so successful, and how it's not gonna be trivial to replace it with value4value and Lightning:

https://bitcoinpolis.gitlab.io/posts/2023/10/20/v4v-ads.html

Any other advantages or reasons why Ads is so successful? Any interesting projects tackling this space? #lightning #value4value #v4v

Ads are the easiest way to monetize. Sadly, the side effect is that they incentivize us to build the most sophisticated surveillance system ever known to man.

The good news is that nothing is inevitable.

Confiscation would a whole lot easier tho

If that is the case then they will be trying to keep the price down just like gold.

The interesting thing is that Bitcoin is a finite asset. When all Bitcoin on exchange gets withdrawn, there will be none available for the ETFs to buy.

The key thing about any Bitcoin ETF that is approved is the question of ‘will they allow us to see the on chain Bitcoin’.

If they don’t show us the Bitcoin addresses, then we have to ask ‘Are they full reserve?’

Hey Nostriches

We are running a Nostr Nest right now. Come join us https://nostrnests.com/kgxqpn

The Information Revolution

Discussing how we are changing our world with the invention of digital information.

We are moving from a situation where our information is stored and controlled by a few large companies to one where our information is stored in a decentralised network where the network secures our ownership of our data.

A fascinating discussion at #bitcoinunleashed today. Interesting to hear about #osification of Bitcoin. Good or bad thing?

I described Nostr to someone recently.

When I got on the part about the zaps, they said that's a good idea, but can you do it in fiat?

The problem with fiat is that you have to go through a bank!

The people in the bank have to get paid.

The bank has to know who you are.

The bank has to be sure that they agree with you politics in order to facilitate your business.

Bitcoin is automatic, apolitical and non-descriminatory.

It just works!

That 10% on exchanges is going to get taken up and there's going to be a squeeeeeze

GM Nostr!

What fantasical things are we going to build today?

Approximately 10% of all Bitcoin ever mined is on exchanges.

Approximately 75% of people that buy bitcoin haven't yet put it into a self custody wallet.

If you are on an exchange that you don't own Bitcoin, you own an IOU for Bitcoin.

This is a game of musical chairs, so make sure you get a seat before the music stops.

If you think that a twelve word seed phrase is not enough, then consider the risk.

It would take fastest computer in the world 500 billion years to scroll through all the possible combinations of twelve words to find yours and use them to steal your money.

Anyone that has that much time, energy and compute power would find it more profitable to join the network and mine #Bitcoin

Bitcoin Amsterdam!

Investing your time in Bitcoin can happen in one of two ways:

1. You can learn about Bitcoin by reading books, watching videos and listing to podcasts.

2. You can invest the payments that you have received for work you have done in the past into #Bitcoin.

The best returns can be achieved by doing both in that order.
