Yum—- just had some fried in toasted sesame oil and soy sauce with a dash of hot kimchi liquid, baby bok choy and mushrooms to which I added udon noodles… #Umami

Would love to and plan to… just wanna make sure I know how the basic UX/UI works first. For example I signed up for a Purple address and paid for a year but still can’t figure out how to use it even though they claimed that it would “verify” me?? Any suggestions?

well, clients can filter feeds, and should... but often they are laxidaisical about it and most of them load the garbage and then check if it's on the mute list, instead of checking whether to load it

and very often they have revealers for content that is blocked, even though, you know, you don't want to see it

and they often don't even consistently check, even if they put hiders over posts in the post view, in the reactions, whether the user has muted it

the mute filtering is happening way too late in the process

in fact, the relay should be doing it for you, if it gets a set of results, it should load your mute list and remove the events that are by users you mute or contain tags you mute

there's a toxic culture of "you should be thick skinned" that has developed out of the Reddit social network site, they really don't take this idea that people own their own screens and if you want to be in the community you have to take it on the chin from the fucking scumbag trolls

like, what the fuck

i don't want to block everyone from seeing asshat, i only don't want to see asshat, and maybe i want to make it known i don't like asshat

so you have the facebook model of hide everything even if just your friends hide it

and the reddit model of "toughen up kiddo" and being "free speech" oriented, most nostr clients follow the reddit model, as do the relays

anyhow, that's my 21 sats on the subject

i have a feeling there is a schism building in the nostr dev community over this, by the way that two prominent devs are having a fight about it this last couple of days relating to protocols for offensive content, i stand with those who want to give users choice

and i also want to admonish everyone to consider that problems can be easier solved closer to their origin

Wow! sounds like there is Lots of politics in the dev community, hope they sort it out soon…. for the sake of the Nostr community et all… it would seem from what you have said that the level of #UX maturity is very low in this ecosystem and no one is doing UX research with the so called #plebs —-preferring to duke it out amongst themselves just like Big Tech does…or as we UXers often say “the lunatics are running the asylum” ….😂🤣
