The ones from my garden last much more than that in the fridge and only very few go bad.
Of course it's incomparable to any supermarket ones that have to travel for days and then wait on the shelf and then travel again with you, undergoing a few cycles of cooling and warming up.
Gardening takes a lot of times, but it's worth it if you care about the stuff you eat. Some see a big opportunity cost "how many hours you spend to grow your tomatoes you can buy at $2 per kg?" and yes it's not worth it, but at the same time it absolutely is. I can't buy that kind of quality/taste, even if I pay up. And then it's the everydays gardener's meditation/yoga/zen that is taking care of your garden.
