Mě to připadá jako dobrý nástroj, ale ne v současné podobě kdy oproti legislativě tam zrušili pseudonymizaci.

Mě např. v mládí štvalo že prodejci alkoholu musím ukazovat i své jméno atd. Většina ligitimizací potřebuje jen nějakou malou část údajů a ostatní se předávají zbytečně.

Ale pokud se to bude vyvíjet tímto směrem že místo leakování dat v offline světě tam bude centrální dohled, tak se tomu taky budu vyhýbat.

Ja jsem s prekvapenim zjistil, ze v Anglii mj. neexistuji ani obcanske prukazy, nebo-li ID... maji pry pasy (nekteri), prip. ridicak, platebni kartu atd....

So of course there are impostor accounts on nostr. Nothing we can do about it.

But nostr clients could help by displaying some relevant stats wherever possible, but esp in search and follow pages/dialogs.

Some kind of flagging system could work (though it's gameable of course). Maybe "show only flags by people I follow" could do it.

Personal flags, that only I see, so I don't mistake real Lyn Alden for an impostor if it's in the feed posted by someone else by accident, that would help too.

Bitcoin newbie, close to my first BTC purchase.

After quite some research, I managed to find some ATMs that have a commission of “only” 8% and, the cherry on top, there's no identification necessary for amounts up to a maximum of 250 EUR. I intend to buy some Satoshi every month for 50 EUR so it's not a problem by far.

They also offer the option for me to buy through the Lightning network with a more down-to-earth commission of 2%. While my scope is to buy and simply hold, I won't refuse to make a small purchase from a more or less random shop if the opportunity arises, for practical experience.

I want to give myself a year to get acquainted properly with this world before deciding if I should raise the amount but, before my first purchase, I want to know if there's anything to take into account as a newbie or if I’m good to go. Just in case, the company that owns the ATMs is called KURANT Bitcoin ATM and Service. It operates in Austria, Germany and Spain so maybe someone knows anything about it.

I am new to this world, and please explain to me like I’m 5. For context, I'm in the second half of my 40s and my level of education is limited to high school. One detail that might count is that I live in the EUR zone.

My intention is for the next year to buy BTC worth 50 EUR a month while getting some practical experience along with some knowledge and re-evaluating after this time. I want to do it for my kid, for reasons that go beyond “some cushion money”. While I am not a very educated person, to put it mildly, I am getting anxious about some totalitarian tendencies that my old continent seems to have acquired. Some call me paranoid, so I decided to stop talking about it in real life, but I assure you that I don't use my aluminium foil for non-culinary reasons. While right now I live in the “civilised world”, I was born in an Eastern European dictatorship and I can still get a sour taste when, once in a while, I see different news about what should be regulated next.

But I digress. From my knowledge, there are two ways of keeping my privacy while acquiring BTC. The first one should be in person, with cash, but I don't know how safe it is because, well, paranoia again. The second option would be to use a Bitcoin ATM where I can pay with cash. But to pay about 20% over the market… for me it's outrageous. And yes, I know it's not a lot of money but for me, it counts.
